My son has suddenly become frightened of haircuts. Does anyone know where there is a children's haircut place. In S. Fl they were everywhere, and here I cannot seem to locate one. Everyone has been so helpful in the past, any advice or places is appreciated.

So What Happened?

Thank you to all who responded. We went to Cool Cuts. Our timing wasn't great(near a nap) but the lady suggested we walk away(to the front) this was new, and so we tried it. There were still tears, but it got done.

It may sound kind of crazy....but if you have an annual pass to Disney - the best place for them to get a haircut is at the Barber Shop on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom. They are amazing at distracting them and they are so accustomed to dealing w/ kids. I took my son there for his 1st haircut and it was the best experience! It was $14 for the haircut and they also gave me his locks of hair w/ "pixie dust", a My First Haircut certificate signed by Mickey Mouse and Disney mouse ears that were embroidered with "My First Haircut". We have been back for 2 more haircuts and he always has a great time. Good luck!

There is one at The Loop in Orlando. They have t.v.'s for the kids to watch and cute little cars for them to sit in. There are also video games. They do a good job on boys hair but I was not really pleased with my daughters cut from there.

If you have passes for disney go to the magic kingdom barber shop at the beginning of main street. They charge the same amount as everyone else $14 but they are excellent with kids. It's the only place my son will get his haircut, plus its a bonus for them to be in the park.

There is a new place now over in Avalon Park called Sharkey's Cuts For Kids....very cool. A completely child themed salon with cars, gaming and even a glamour area for little girls! You can check it out at http://www.sharkeyscutsforkids.com/loc_orlando.html. They do a special 1st Haircut Package and even do parties!

I have been taking my 18 mth old son to the same place since he turned a year. It is called Kiddie Cuts. It is located on OBT alittle past the Florida Mall going towards Kissimmee. It specifically caters to kids. I believe they have a website.

Cool Cuts in the loop is no longer there and I can't find a place in Orlando to get my kids first haircut! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Kissimmee, Hunters Creek, Celebration are also cities close to me. Thanks!

Ask for Dennis at Paragon Hair and Nails in Altamonte Springs (corner of 436 & 434 in San Sebastian Plaza). He has over 30 years experience as a barber and does extremely well with children. P.S. His wife Norine also works there and has been doing my hair for 30 years, if you are looking for convenience and expertise! The phone number is ###-###-####.

I took my daughter to the magic kingdom for her first haircut (her only one so far) and she loved it, I don't think she even knew she was getting her hair cut. The put mickey glitter and Cinderella castle glitter on her legs to play. I also saw them doing some younger children and covering the front of the child with mickey stickers to play with.

I take my 3 year old son to Big League. They are specifically for men and boys. There are a few around here (I go to the one in Maitland), but they are very kid, well, boy-friendly.
They have TV screens at all their stations so they can put on Noggin or something else. They have the boost er seats or you can have them sit in your lap and, they are fast! I also found they are good at cutting my sons hairthey way I want, and not just "butcher" it--lol.
But it is so true, it is very hard to find hair cutting places around here specifically for kids! I heard there was one in the Waterford lakes area, but that's a bit far for us (especially since Big League works well for us).
Good luck!
