Does anyone know of a gym/fitness center in Columbus Oh that offers free babysitting with a membership? I would love to go workout but can't afford the cost of a membership AND pay for babysitting for 2 children. Any advice would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

I think the YMCA in Gahanna offers free childcare. I know people that have used it & they say the people are really good with the kids. I think you are limited to 1 hour, but that can still give you a pretty good workout. Good luck!

check out Dublin Jazzercise! Babysitting is free and offered at 9:15 a.m., 4:20 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. during class. What's even better is that if you signup to be a babysitter you babysit for one hour a week and only pay $5.00 a month for membership! That's what I do and you can't beat it! Their web site is I think jazzindublin.com if you want more information. Hope this helps!

C.,

I've not heard of a gym with free babysitting, however Lifetime Fitness only charges $6 per month per child for 2 hours a day of babysitting. That's the best I've found at any of the local gyms and community centers. Most of them have you pay by the hour - so even if I only go to the gym once per month at lifetime (obviously I try to go more often than that) it definitely pays for itself.

Happy hunting - if you find one with free babysitting let me know - but I'm assuming that most places will charge extra because most of the childless people out there tend to raise a stink if they think that they are paying for a privilege that they don't need/want to use (that is of course until they have their own kid then it's amazing how their outlook/attitude changes).

Good luck and God Bless
Mel

If you live on the East side you may want to look into Scarbourgh Tennis and Fitness. They do have fitness and as an added bonus you could learn to play tennis. There is a small charge for baby sitting, but the membership cost is probably not as high as most places.
May be an option.
Good luck.

In Pickerington off of 256 there is a World's Gym with a connecting Jazzersize studio, and I think its like a $1 for an hour.

Hi C.- you should try the YMCA system here in Columbus. I believe the North Y offers an hour or 2 of free care and so does the one downtown.

Good luck,

The YMCA is expensive, but does provide [i believe] free childcare.
Former California Fitness provides Childcare for a small fee of 2 bucks for 2 hours [rates may have changed]
Let me know what the feedback is please, we too would love to find a good gym with free childcare!!!
