Looking for a Great Church in Austin
Hello dear Moms! We are looking for a Christian Church to attend on Sunday mornings. We are Christian in our beliefs, but are not strict or looking to convert anyone! Mostly we want a place that offers great community, a really great childcare/study program for our kids (ages 7 months, 4 and 8), and the opportunity to hear someone gifted preach. Is that way too much to ask? I hope not ;) We are South Central Austin but are willing to drive further out. Blessings to you sweet ladies!

I don't know what your preference is in churches... some like Catholic, Methodist, etc. (you get the idea).
You are welcome to come check out my church. It's Emmanuel Methodist Church. We are a small bilingual church. There's a nursery for the baby (up til 3yrs old) and Sunday school classrooms for the kids.
We all try to be to service together (including the kids) and there's a small time for the kids during the service (it's called Children's Time where they learn a lesson for the day or related to what is happening during the service).
There's 3 adult classrooms, 1 - Spanish speaking, 1 - small adult classroom (right now we are studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer's "Cost of Discipleship) and there 1 large adult classroom. Sunday school starts at 9:30 am for 1 hr.
Service starts at 10:45.
Easter Sunday, there is a 6:30am service, followed by breakfast.
We are located at 200 Brushy (E 2nd & IH 35), right along the access road.
We don't have a lot to offer but you are most welcome to come.

We also live south, but drive to St. Michael's Episcopal Church 1500 N Capital of Texas Highway, (Loop 360) a mile north of Bee Caves Road. The church has an open, loving attitude, great community, and an awesome children's program that grows into a youth program for teens that my children loved and still visit when they're home from college. Easter services are tonight at 8:30 (this one runs long, Easter Vigil plus regular communion service), the 9:30am Children's celebration of Easter would be a great place to start for tomorrow. The 11:00 service has beautiful traditional music. "Regular" Sunday services are 7:45, 9:00 with contemporary music, 11:00 with more traditional music, and 6:00pm, contemplative. The 9 and 11 have Sunday School programs for kids.
I hope to see you there!

D.,
Try visiting Christ Community Church (CCC) in Austin. The address is 12675 Reasearch Blvd. They're having Easter services at 10a and 11:30a. There is an Easter egg hunt for children up to grade 5 at 11:00. Starting next Sunday, there will be one service at 10:30a.
Pastor Ray McCollum is an annointed speaker and teacher. We had been searching for a church home in Austin for two years when we were referred to CCC. We joined after our first visit and have been there for seven months.
CCC has a lot to offer in the way of missions, childcare, the children's program and other programs. The CCC family opened up their arms and hearts to us from our first visit and we are still experiencing their genuine, heartfelt love.
I would recommend to anyone seeking to hear the Word of God and be a part of a great community of believers to visit CCC.
God Bless - Happy Easter!
