Looking for a Good, Reasonably Priced Photographer

We had pictures done last month by Kristy Duggin Photography in the Lindstrom area. She does it out of her home, and gives you the CD so you can upload the ones you want to Target, Walgreens or where ever. She is very good with the kids, getting them arranged. I know the total price was under $100.
There is another one of these photographers in Cottage Grove. She (or he) does the exact same thing with the CD's, although I haven't tried them yet. Let me know if you want that name and #.

I'm not sure where you live, but I have been thrilled with Jackie Boldt Photography in Eagan (http://www.jackieboldtphotography.com). She charges $100 for a 1/2 hour session, which was plenty for my son both at 6 weeks & 4 months. Your $100 gets you all the files from the sitting to print as you like. I printed 8 different poses in a variety of sizes at Wal-Mart & it cost $30. Her style is definitely more photo-journalistic, which I love, but is not for everyone, so you should take a good look at her website.

Unfortunately, she is due to have a baby sometime this month, but I know she partners with another photographer who is covering for her while she's out on maternity leave.

I go to FLASH, and they do a fantastic job. They do digital pictures, so you can view them right after the shoot. They are pretty inexpensive, especially if you have a coupon (sometimes $19.99 for the session fee, one 8X10 and 8 wallets). I haven't gone to anyone else because they are always so good. Good luck!

I charge $50 for the 1st hour; $25 each additional. I give you a CD with all photos, including edited, on it for you to print anywhere. I go to location and there are no "limits" to scenery or outfit changes.

I have a two yr old and also a three year old boxer, so I work well with both!

We had our family pictures taken this fall by a woman named Jessica Wald and we were really pleased! She came to our house and worked in a very casual and fun way with our kids (AND our 2 year old happened to be very cranky that day!) I have a friend who moved to the Mpls area last year from Iowa. She is a graphics designer and photographer. I don't know if she is currently working for a studio or just on her own. an added plus point he is also a pet photographer, so if you have a family portrait done, it can be of the whole family (including your four pawed baby)

I'm a fan of John Ballew in Crystal. http://www.johnballewphotography.com. He doesn't charge any sitting fee which is nice because I feel like that motivates him to take really good pictures. He does charge a lot for the ones you buy ($38 for one 8x10, 2 5X7 or 3 4X6) but if you normally don't buy a ton of pictures you can get some really nice pictures for under $100. He'll also give you all proofs (~150 - 200) printed in a book to keep. It's low resolution with watermark but at least you can see them.

I highly recommend Journey's of Life Photography; the pictures are beautiful and the prices are great but best of all you own the rights to the pictures so you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to print the picutes! I had professional portraits done and they turned out great. I was able to buy the electronic version to use over and over again. They had displays of beautiful baby and family portraits in their studio!
