Looking for a Good PCP (Primary Care Physician)
Firstly, I am so thankful for MamaSource! I read it daily and appreciate all the great questions and responses, as I read many of them! Here is what I am in need of:
I have lived in the Valley all my life, but moved to North Chandler 2 years ago. I have yet to find a PCP (general doctor) for myself out in this area.
I've had a bad experience with a doctor that would just give you whatever medication you requested. I would go in to ask about a medication and he would just write it up for me. I want a doctor that would recommend what's best for me, not just want I inquire about. My husband has had a bad experience with making a statement that his had had recently been hurting him and somehow it was them written up as arthritis and we had trouble getting his life insurance because of it. I want a doctor that actually takes the time to monitor a "problem" before diagnosing.
I'll check on the in network thing off of your recommendations, but would appreciate any general doctors that you all have had good experiences with. This would probably become the doctor for my entire family.
(We'll drive where we need to for a good doctor, but we live on Alma School between Guadalupe and Elliot.)
Thank you for any suggestions you may have!

Hi M.!
We live near Alma and Guadalupe and recently had to go through the same thing. We found a really friendly phyician nearby that we like. Here is his website <www.doctorbair.com>. He is located at Country Club and Baseline in the medical plazas behind discount tire. He often is training medical students, which I love.
Good luck! Feel free to message me if you need anything else in the area. I have grown up in the neighborhood!

Hi M.,
My family uses Dr. Thomas Sutton. We have been seeing him for 15 years at least. He is great! He really takes the time to listen and do what is best for you. He is on Southern between Gilbert and Lindsay. ###-###-####. Good luck in your search...finding a Dr. that you like is a time consuming task!

Hands down I would suggest Dr. Mara Baire with Oasis Family Med.
She is fantastic, and going into the office is like when you went to the Dr. as a kid. She remebers about you and etc. We love her so much we skipped a Ped. and took our son to her.
Their # is ###-###-####...

I go to see Dr. Gregory Ellison at Baseline and Price in Tempe. I typically see his PA, Buffy. She is very good about taking time to listen to my symptoms and answer any questions I have. Last year I had a problem with my knees that was diagnosed as mild arthritis but that was after 2 appointments and an x-ray. She also gave me stretches and exercises to help improve my knees as I was not interested in medication.

Hi M.:
My husband and I go to Southeast Valley Medical Center at Baseline and Country Club. We either see Dr. Faust or Dr. Brinkerhoff. They are both really good and we can usually get in same day if we get sick. ###-###-####
As for your baby, we love our pediatrician, Dr. Guthrie at Gilbert Pediatrics. I've referred him to other Moms and they all love him as well. He shares a practice and they have 2 locations; one at Greenfield and Baseline and one at Power Ranch. ###-###-####.
Good Luck! D.
