I am looking for an OBGYN that delivers at Baylor Grapevine. I've had a C-section before, so I want a doctor that is good in surgery and has great bedside manner. I'm also looking for an office that does not make you wait for long periods of time.

I tried to see Dr. Flowers, but it was going to be months before I could get in to see her to establish (before I was pregnant). I'd heard good things about Dr. Wai who is in her practice and I saw him and really like him. Went thru my full pregnancy with him, only to end up delivering my baby while he was on vacation and Dr. Flowers did the delivery (with a few complications that she handled well). I really like both of them and would recommend them. I don't usually have long waits to see Dr. Wai, but sometimes his office staff irritate me, for what that is worth. I know there are a lot of great doctors at Baylor Grapevine.

It's been said before, but I have to say I love Dr. Rost (of Mendez/Rost/New). All are great doctors. My mom worked L&D at Grapevine and sent me there when I needed a doctor because she liked all three doctors. You never know who it will be in the end esp. if you deliver on a weekend or holiday.
I do know they like to work together if one of their patients is having a c-section.

I've been with North Texas Womens Healthcare in Grapevine for 13 years now (Vaughan, White, Gagnon, and Kilianski) Dr. Thomas Vaughan is my actual Doctor and did 2 of my 3 c-sections. Dr. Neal did my third. For whatever reason all of none of my Dr's were on call. For never have meeting Dr. Neal before, we were completely at ease with him BEFORE going in to the surgery room. He did however question me many times before he tied my tubes. I was 33 and he said I could have just one more if I wanted to-NO THANKS I said 3 in 3 years was enough. Baylor Grapeving is a great place to deliver too.

Good luck

I go to Dr. Kilianski with North Texas Womens Healthcare in Grapevine Vaughan, White, Gagnon, and Kilianski. The office cam highly recommended with him. His nurse Barbara is great. I have been to a lot of ob/gyns in 30 years/3 states and they're one of the best I have been to. His bedside manner is fabulous.

I've had two babies at Baylor Grapevine. I love my OBGYN - Dr. Cowen, he has an office right on the first floor of Baylor Grapevine. Comprehensive Women's Healthcare is the name of the practice. Their number is ###-###-####. He was great and really watched me close on my second baby since my first came early. He also makes a point to be there for all his deliveries and not just the on call Dr. I think he was great.

Dr. Angelo Mendez is at Baylor Grapevine and he is absolutely wonderful. A sweet and gentle man who really cares. When I had a miscarriage, he just about cried along with me. His partners Dr. New and Dr. Rost are awesome too. I have seen both of them when Dr. Mendez was on vacation and always knew if I had my babies over a weekend when he was not on call, I would be in great hands.

Dr. Mendez goes to our church so hubby and I know his family as well. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

He delivered both my sons. One was was vaginal and the other a c-section. No problems with either.

I see Dr. Troy New at Baylor Grapevine. I have been going to him for years and he has a great bedside manner. He delivered my first daughter vaginally and a year and a half ago, delivered my twins via emergency c-section. He did wonderful with both pregnancies and births. I have referred several friends to him as well and they have all been happy with him. He is in an office with 2 other doctors as well, Mendez and Rost and should you end up with one of them, they are nice as well.

I am not sure if you prefere a male or female. I will not go to a womwan OB. My OB is Dr. Kerry Neal. He is wonderful. My husband even likes him. He delivered both my babies C-Section. He went right on top the 1st cut when I had my 2nd child. Honestly, you can't even see my scar. It is that clean and small. I was very scared about having another C-section because of the scaring but you can't even tell. Good luck in choosing a dr. Have you thought about going to visit a few of them to see what kind of vibe you get from them? Dr. Kerry Neal is in the Comprehensive Women's Healthcre. His number is ###-###-####.

Dr. Troy New....Hands down! He is awesome. I absolutlely love him. I had two sons (delivered by a different "nameless" doctor at Baylor Grapevine) and had a bad experience with the second delivery. It wasn't his fault, but our son died and he handled it very poorly. So needless to say, after that, I wasn't going back to him. Someone referred me to Dr. New and I had an awesome experience with him with my third. He was very sensitive to what had happened previously and did an awesome job!!!!
His number is: ###-###-####. I promise you will love him!

Unfortunately, I don't have a referral for an OBGYN there, but I do have a very important piece of advice being that you've already had a C-section. Be sure to discuss with your new doctor where they will make the incision for the new baby (if you are choosing another C-section). I had a different OB for the birth of my 2nd and she made the incision over 1 1/2 inches higher than the first C-sec incision. It would've been nice to have had it around the same area to lessen scarring. I should've told her what I wanted instead of assuming she'd follow suit from the last incision. Communication is key.

As for finding a doctor who does not make you wait long period of time...I'm afraid that'll be like finding the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. But please do share if you do find that rare gem of a doc!

Good luck!
S.

I haven't yet found an OBGYN office that doesn't have wait issues...when babies come, everything stops! But my OBGYN is Julia Flowers at Baylor Grapevine. I really, really like her. She delivered my daughter 16 months ago.

I love Dr. Troy New. He is so friendly and puts you at ease. He did my c-section and I never had any complications. I noticed a woman suggested Dr. Mendez...he is in the same office. Good luck!

There were some glowing reviews for an OB or two at Baylor Grapevine a while back. If you search that section, you should be able to find them--maybe Dr. Flowers? Sorry, I know that's not that helpful. I'm guessing pretty soon though that some of those posters will repost again with the info. My friend had two babies at Baylor Grapevine and loved her OB AND the hospital! Pretty nice. Congrats and good luck!

Dr. Flowers is amazing. She is absolutely wonderful. I have had 2 ovarian surgeries with her and a baby! I always knew she was good but when my reproductive doctor asked me who did my ovarian surgery...I told him. He said it was the best he had ever seen done, as far as what she was able to save and also incisions. I won't say I've never had to wait on her...but never to long during the pregnancy visits...but I promise she is worth it!

I use Dr. Michael White (North Texas Women's Healthcare) - he's in the hospital on the first floor and also has Keller offices. He delivered both my daughters, and he's wonderful. I have several friends who've used him, and they've all had the same wonderful experience. He's warm and easy to understand - very patient with questions. Dr. Wendy Kindrick at Women's Integrated Health Care on the hospital property is also wonderful if you want an option who is a woman.
