Looking for a Good Multi-vitamin
Hey Ladies,
You have all been so wonderful about helping me out before that I thought I would see if you could do so again. This isn't anything big, but I'm looking for good multi-vitamins for both my husband and myself. Do you have one that you love and would recommend? What about your husbands? I used to just take my prenatals (even after the birth of my babies) as they were cheaper with insurance than paying for regular vitamins. Then my insurance changed and I've not been able to find one I like since. My husband is also in need of one, but I don't even know where to start when it comes to vitamins for men! Any advice would be welcome! Thanks so much!

I would try the Juice Plus thing. I haven't taken it myself, but have heard good things. My childrens pedi sells it and takes it and so does the secratary in there and they really like it, coming from a doctors point of view.

Phytomatrix by a company called Mannatech. The vitamins and minerals are easily and more absorbed in your body (as you notice sometimes your urine is yellow or smells like minerals- a indication that your body is not absorbing the minerals). There are clinical trials studies on this product. They also have a chewable version of these in a berry and lemon flavors.

Hi H.,
You are smart to be looking for a quality supplement to bridge the gap between the nutrition we know we need and the amount we get from our food each day. Sometimes it's a small gap; other days, it can be a cavern, right?
I am so pleased to have found out 4 years ago that isolated vitamins/multi-vitamins are not the answer. What our bodies need more of is WHOLE FOOD NUTRITION. We need the 10,000's of vitamins and minerals found in fruits and veggies. That's why the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society recommend eating 7-13 servings (1/2 cup each) EVERY DAY. The challenge is, almost nobody does this!
The answer I found for my family is to put the fruits and veggies into capsules or soft chewables. Either way, we get all the nutrition of 15 fresh, raw fruits and veggies plus 2 whole grains. We have had incredibly good health ever since! I love it so much I decided to market it so other moms could find out about it. Fruits and veggies contain all the nutrition needed for men, women and children so you don't have to look for different products for each member of the family.
Here's the link for more information: www.goodhealthmadesimple.com. When you order through me by Nov. 29th, you'll get a $10 rebate per item ordered. This is a deal I'm offering for my Mamasource peeps - not available through the company.
Email me if you have any questions or would like to hear about the Children's Health Study program where I can sponsor your child to get his/her product for free when a paid adult takes it with them.
I congratulate you on taking responsibility for your family's health and wellness!
Blessings,
M.

Good morning, H.,
A great source for good vitamins of all kinds is the website www.vitacost.com . I buy the multivitamins called Alive, made by Nature's Plus (an excellent nutrition company). They are very complete and if you buy them through the website, you can get a 2 months supply for about $22. I have tried many vitamins over the years and there are many good ones out there, but these are the most complete and cost effective ones I have found.
Congratulations on recognizing that good nutrition is the foundation of good health.

I also recommend Shaklee multis. Their research is solid and way ahead of the curve.

I would very strongly recomend Juice Plus. There are a few thing up front I would like to say. 1)it is sold mainly by individuals (can also be bought online https://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/content/Welcome.soa)
2) There are a few better things on the market, but they are liquid and I can't stomach it.
Juice Plus is a capsule that is taken with 8oz of water. The consept is that we dont eat enough fruits and vegetables. If we did we would not need vitamins. Also what we have access to is not very nutritional fruits and vegetables.
It costs about $50 a month per person, but worth it. The tablets are worthless. Every studie has shown that your body cannot digest hard packet tablets. That and mosst vitamins that are in present aren't compatible with our body either.
They even have gummies for children.
Hope this helped.

Hi H.!
Wow, you have already gotten a lot of great suggestions! Im going on a big vitamin kick, too, and have gone back to a great multi: Nature's Way Source of Life. I get the liquid vitamin, but they also have tablets and capsules. They include not only vitamins and minerals, but green foods and whole foods for support of whole nutrition. They arent cheap (liquid is about $22-30 depending on where you go for 30 day supply), but the online store for Vitamin Shoppe has the best price I have found and offer discounts.
Good luck!

Hi H.! I recommend Juice Plus or any other whole food vitamin.
My advice is NOT to buy anything from Melaleuca. Their oligofructose compound is not a new thing. They use clever marketing to make you think you are getting a pure product. I bought into it for 5 years, so I am well aquainted with their tactics.
Whole food vitamins are the way to go. Anything to buy at Wal-Mart is only going to deliver a FRACTION of the vitamin content that it lists on the label and you will literally be flushing your money down the toilet.
