Looking for a Good, Inexpensive, Preschool for My 3 Y/o
we just moved here and i am looking for a preschool for my 3 y/o son. Something for just a few hours a few days a week. Both his sisters are in school full time so he has no one but mom and i think he gets a little bored with me. We are a family of 5 on a budget so something inexpensive would be great. i live in Southwest round about W. Flamingo & 215.

My son goes full time to Spring Valley Montessori. We love it. It is actually less expensive than the daycare he was in before we moved here! I know they offer a 2 or 3 day program. My son really loves it there and is really learning a lot. They do a great job teaching social skills and the kids are always having fun. It is on Edna just off of S Rainbow. ###-###-#### Ask for Ms Susan the Director or Ms Coreen the asst dir. They are both really wonderful!

I'm not sure where you are in the valley, but Hand in Hand on Serene (off of Eastern, not far from I-215) is great! They aren't as expensive as the others because they don't provide lunch. But their program is great and the teachers all care about the kids and teach them so much. My daughters went there for about 9 months while I was taking some classes and they both loved it. My oldest is now in kindergarten and was well prepared.

Hi T., I know of two preschools in the Summerlin/NW area of Vegas. One is a new program but is run by wonderful, experienced teachers that my daughters had for preschool in the past. The program is called Training wheelz and the link is www.trainingwheelz.com. They also are starting craft workshops for kids. The programs will be located at Becker Middle school.
The other program that I know of is at the YMCA. I know that the Centennial Y has a great program, but you could also check into the others. There is a Y at the Meadows, Durango and also in Henderson.
I'm not sure of the exact cost, but I believe both of these should be pretty reasonable.

You can try your local recreation center. I don't know of much in your area, but I will be taking my daughter when she turns 3. It is a couple of days a week and for a couple of hours at a time. It was about $72 for six weeks. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure where in Vegas you are located but Henderson Rec Dept has a preschool program that is really affordable and is just a few days a week. I think its offered at the Silver Springs Rec Center. UNLV also offers a great program that is a little more money but a really great program. He might have to go on a waiting list but its worth checking into for next year! Hope that helps.

This is a little "creative" way I get my son interacting with other kids on a small budget. My son is 18months and stays home with my husband or I every day. I joined the Las Vegas Athletic Club gym, for only $5 enroll and $31 each month and I can take him to the playroom there for up to 2 hours everyday as part of my membership. A 3 year old may be in need of more "educational" settings, but this has been working really great for me and the cost is awesome! Good luck!
