Looking for a Good Inexpensive Gym
I am looking for good gym (not fitness usa they screwed me!) over in the roseville, st. clair shores area. I don't want to pay a crazy fee to start up.

My husband and I went to Pointe Fitness on Harper and 7 1/2 Mile (Allard) for a couple years. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the bigger gyms have, but they are good people and the price was really good. I think my husband was paying $35/mo and any additional family member was $20/mo.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

My family and I go to lifetime fitness on Hayes and Hall rd. It might be a little bit of a drive for you but it is worth it. My child asks to go there every day. They have indoor and outdoor pool with slides for the kids, extremely clean, in the child care center there is an outside play area, mini basketball court, one of those crawl up tunnels with two slides coming down, 10 computers with kid only games, and the areas are all closed off so smaller kids stay in the smaller area but if your kid can go from place to place they let them. It is extremely clean and has lots of workers in there to keep an eye on every kid. For the adults it seems like there is a class going on all the time, and a huge, huge, huge work out area, you never have to wait for anything. There is all so a family locker room for the family. In every locker room they have cleaners constantly wiping down and cleaning the locker rooms. There is no start up fees or contracts

My husband really likes Anytime Fitness on Garfield & 14 Mile. They just put another one on Harper in St. Clair Shores (btw 12 mi & 13 mi?). I think he pays $35/month and they're open 24/7.

Lisa, I currently work for Xtreme Fitness. What I like about our gym is that we have a day care right in the gym. We do have three locations. One at 14 mile and VanDyke, one at Hall and I94, and one at 27 mile and VanDyke. Our Hall Rd and 27 mile locations do offer different aerobic classes and all the classes are when day care is open. I work the daycare so I know how it is in there. Any questions give them a call ###-###-#### that is the Hall Rd. Location number.

I go to Fitness 19 in Rochester Hills-- I know they have one in Sterling Heights...but I'm not sure how close it would be for you. I pay $21 a month for me and my husband. Daycare is $10 a month for the first child and $5 a month for each additional child. Right now they are offering $49 enrollment and 13$ a month.
I go almost every day and love it.

Check out http://www.globalfit.com. They offer discounted membership fees to various gyms in your area. Look to see if your employer, or your husband's employer, is on the list of affiliates they have. If your employer's listed, you can take advantage of the discounted gym rates.
Hope this helps! :)
