Looking for a Good, Family Oriented Church in Va Beach
My Husband and I have been having a hard time finding a Baptist church that is fun, spritiual and has a nursery for my baby. I have been to a couple but they were mostly older adults and seemed kind of stuffy. I am hoping someone out there can helps us by giving some suggestions.
Thank You

If you can consider a Methodist Church, maybe try Haygood United Methodist. This church has a wide range of ages, multiple Sunday services and Sunday school classes (times). They have the traditional service and an 'upbeat' one more suitable for young adults. I can go to service while my children are in Sunday School. Everyday of the week there is something going on, even a book club. So much is happening there. I am Baptist also, and I really enjoy this church. My kids love it!

Harvest Outreach (meets at Salem middle off of lynnhaven) has MANY children for your baby's age! They are a very fun loving and very kind group. My mom attends there and I go with her sometimes and they're always so nice to me and remember who I am and make me feel so welcome! The ages are young to about 60s. I've seen one or two older couples before but not often. It's a young, hip and they don't like to specify themselves as any "denomination".
Look forward to seeing you there. BTW, lots of military in this area.

I know of a church, but it isn't baptist, more non-denominational. We go to Wave Church on Great Neck Road. Believe me, it is FUN. They have wonderful programs for children of all ages, the music is awesome, the pastor is hiliarous and they have MANY groups for every interest you can imagine. My husband is also Navy stationed at Norfolk on the USS Enterprise. They have services at 9:30 and 11, and at 6pm so you can choose one that suits your needs. They also have a lot of stuff for women. I hope you check it out.

Hey E.!!
My husband and I moved up here about 1.5 years ago and had the same problem. We were both raised Baptist so we were naturally looking for a Baptist church. We found a GREAT church. It's not a Baptist church but it is very close to one. It's the Courthouse Community United Methodist Church. It's off of Princess Anne, near the Municipal Center. We live in Va Bch near the Redmill Area. I can't say enough wonderful things about the church. Write me back if you have any other questions....I'd be happy to meet with you one Sunday and show you and your family around. D.

I moved last June to Virginia Beach and started going to New Life Providence Church in October and I have absolutely loved it. It is non-demonational and has great child care. The pastor is awesome! Here is the website www.newlifeprovidence.com. They have a Saturday service at 6:00pm and two on Sunday at 8:45am and 11:15am. I hope you give it a try, it is really a great church!

My husband and I attend a baptist church in Norfolk. We also live in Virginia Beach, but we attend in Norfolk. We also have a 8 month old. A little boy. They have a wonderful nursery there, and it is a wonderful mix of younger people and older people. Our pastor is wonderful and very uplifting. The address is 8026 Old Ocean View Road Norfolk, VA. It is not far off Tidewater drive by the new Walmart that was built. My husband and I also were married there. Hope this helps!
