Looking for a Good Consignment / Resale Shop for Clothes

I'm looking for a good place to take gently used clothes in good condition. I've tried one in Plano that only took a couple of dressy outfits, but nothing else. Are there others out there that will take regular clothes in good condition to resell, even if they are not current season, spring 08 clothing line? I have clothese up to 9 month old, so these are perfectly useful outfits, that were worn just a couple times, and look new. Please advise. Thanks!

S., hi. Did you try Once UPon a Child in Plano? If so, the only other one I'm familiar with is Kid to Kid in McKinney on Eldorado and Lake Forest. It could be spelled Kid 2 Kid. You might give them a call. Also there is an outfit called Devine Consign and they put on bi-yearly sales... here's the email for information. You might ask for their website...

Kids to Kids, Parker and Midway and Once Upon a Child Legacy and Independence.

I sister tried the Once Upon a Child and was quite frustrated. What I noticed was that they'd take clothes most anytime but if they didn't NEED clothes at that time then they'd only take a very few items. I'm sure this frustrates many resellers. I think it would be better if they simply said we aren't taking clothes if they aren't really going to take them. I think their management has had turnover recently and isn't very good. I shop there quite a bit as I live close by. -Nita

Once Upon A Child in Carrollton off Trinity Mills usually takes most stuff in good condition. I have seen everything from high end to Target and Old Navy. It is cash up front, which I like. I have not been there in a year or so but have always had pretty good luck. Once once or twice was I disappointed in the amount. They are pickier about toys and such but will take most clothes as long as they are not all wrinkled up in a trash bag! Good luck!

Check out this webite for local sales that are typically twice a year. http://dallas.jbfsale.com/ There are also other ones in the metroplex if that location is not convenient for you.

It is the "Just between friends sale" and the best bang for the buck. I have done it about 5 times and this last time I made over $200. You tag your items and drop them off and make 70% of the price you put on the item. You can also sell all your other baby/kid items too. It's a great way to clear out.

This consignment sale is held twice a year, you set your own prices, and they are always busy.

I just typed in Resale Shop, Wylie, Tx, as I know of one at Brown & 78 called Peggy Sue's (or something like that). Got these others that came up...plus a bunch more. Might be worth investigating.

Hi S., I have not found many places that will pay even garage sale prices for gently used clothing. I have had a lot of luck posting them on Craigs List
www.craigslist.com
It is a little time consuming but is worth it, I feel in the long run. Good luck!!!

Try a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. An option if you want to get some value out of all the money you spent instead of flat out donating. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.
