I HIGHLY recommend Kenny Smith. ###-###-#### Extremely experienced DJ. Background in radio, both broadcasting and producing. Has a wonderful repor with kids and parents. He will make sure that your daughter feels like it's HER party - she picks the music. Kenny talks to your daughter, finds out her music likes and dislikes, favorite songs/artists. She picks the playlist. Don't know about his rates, but if you ask me, his talent for making wonderful memories for the special girl are worth every penny!!! Good luck. I second Bill Cody. He is worth it. We spent about $1500 on him.

I have used another person from Complete Music and spent about $600.

The teens all told us how much more they enjoyed Bill Cody.

We used this DJ for our wedding and were very happy. We will be using him again this fall for a holiday party.

What date in May? Hubby has all the gear and does the DJ thing for parties as extra income. What kind of music does she like? His going rate is $400 for 4 hours. He's got lights and a disco ball and all that good stuff. He gathers a song list of preferred songs from the customer and gets those songs so he will have specific ones that she'd want to hear.

I just used a DJ for my daughter's 11th birthday party. He was great with the kids and seem to be up on all the songs that they really like. Also beforehand he sent an extensive list of songs to my daughter for her to go through and pick out ones she really wanted. He's an individual, not through an agency, so I think his rates are more reasonable.

We just had our daughter's Bat Mitzvah and used Bill Cody. He was awesome. He has been doing the DJ stuff forever. Very easy to work with and the kids had a great time.(He also knows how to control the kids if they get a little crazy.)You might want to get input from the venue. Also, Bill has other DJ's that work with him. They may be less expensive!

I have done it both ways. A Big Bar Mitzvah the first time that cost a bunch. The 2nd child we had family only and the party for the kids was at laser tag. Family had a big dinner at Maggiano. Both ways were wonderful in different ways. So I would say do not give in to peer pressure or the fear of disappointing your child. That said, if you are having a big party........

You have probably already talked to Bill Cody. He is worth it. I'd advise you to skip the extras on everything else! No video montage, no napkins with your childs name, etc... Make your own easy decorations. Even homemade food is okay. Choose the Temple or a rec center for the event. Maybe a button person if not too expensive, but Bill Cody can provide all the entertainment you will really need. I'd say skimp on everything but him!
But, you can also look for a teenage DJ to save $$.
