Looking for a "Baby-friendly" Carpet Stain Remover

I have a few set in stains on my carpet in the living room. This area is pretty much a kid zone right now. My baby is gonna be crawling around in the next few months also, so I need a stain remover that is non-toxic for babies but still works on tough stains. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

I use "Kids 'n' Pets." I find it at Target or K-mart. The Meijer near me used to carry it, but they don't anymore. It is the best stuff ever!

Just in case you are still reading advice, DEFINATELY get a professional person in there to clean and scotch gaurd!!!!!! I do day care, and I swear by the scotch gaurd(and it does not cost that much extra). I was told by someone that works for a carpet cleaning company to use 50/50 water and white vinager. I keep a large bottle at home and use it often. I had to use it for taking up a nasty blue gummie bear off of very light carpet. It worked!!!!

Nutri Clean is a natural botanical sourced cleaner that safely removes stains from all natural sources, including babies, animal accidents, etc.

Works by changing the molecular structure of water and is non-ionic so water is doing the cleaning. Amazing and hard to believe but clean your whole carpet for about 50 cents of Nutri Clean. Hi concentrate - just mix with water and use.

I have my business registered with Mamasource but check out www.myavalla.com/us/pwp/gyonker website, my contact info there. Email me and I will mail some free samples to try with no obligation.

My goal is to help everyone be healthier, happy and more beautiful. We need to get chemicals out of our environment! My picture is on my website. God Bless, Gladys

I use Basic H2. It is an organic cleaner, effective on stains and cost effective as well.

Back in March I discovered a earth-friendly and family friendly company that produces many non-toxic cleaners soaps, shampoos, lotions and such. The products are a lot cheaper than store bought without sacrificing the quality.
I used the multi-purpose cleaner on my carpet in my car and it removed stains that I had in there that I had no idea could be removed. I was so happy because I thought that they were ruined. I would love to tell you more about the company if you are interested. Being that I am not the owner of company, I cannot advertise the name on here. Let me know because the product that I used cost less than $2 for a 24 oz. bottle.

If the stains are at all pet-related, I highly recommend Nature's Miracle. Read the label to be sure, but I'm pretty sure it's non-toxic and safe for kids to be around. I'm always AMAZED at how easily it gets pet-related stains out and it may even work for other stains as well. I just squirt it on the area and I don't even usually have to scrub. It just dissolves the stains.

If you don't want to try that, the first thing I'd try is vinegar. A professional carpet cleaner warned me not to use Resolve, Spot Shot, etc. because they leave a gummy residue of some sort when you get your carpets steam cleaned. I think that guy said to just use vinegar and if that doesn't work, call them to come out. Modernistic is pretty reasonable and usually has coupons. We've had them do our stairs, family room, hall, walk in closet, and guest bedroom and I want to say it was under $100. We have to get it done every other year to maintain our carpet warranty (good thing I read the fine print in the warranty...no one ever mentioned that when we bought the carpeting and had it installed!).

Hi J.,
We get Stanley Steamer twice a year and the carpet looks great afterward. We used to use carpet stain removers but didn't realize that if you don't get ALL of it off your carpet it will fade the color. I didn't even realize that is what happened but the guys at Stanley Steamer said they see that alot. Just my 2 cents.
