My grandmother is having a horrible time with her Ob's and she is going to switch because they are not finding out what is wrong with her. She heard about a lady Ob that works with USF something or rather and would like to know if anyone has heard of her(sorry, I don't know her name), etc.. or if you have a great Ob that is proactive and thorough. preferably in the brandon area, but she would be willing to drive if the Ob is worth it or if she found that one DR she is looking for.

What can I do next?

They delivered my daugther. They current no longer deliver children, but I still see them for my yearly's. If your grandmother is having problems and not getting the help she needs I would highly recommend there office.

The Woman's Group is fabulous. They have 2 offices one in New Tampa and one on W. Virgina off of Habana and MLK Jr. Blvd. They are so great every doctor is so wonderful and the office staff is great. The offices themselves are beautiful. I think everyone should go to them. Dr. Wahba delivered my daughter 3 years ago and I am pregnant with our second child and due in January. I cannot say enough about the doctors and the staff.

Not sure if you are referring to the USF Physicians Group or not but if so I actually would not recommend practice.. I went to a female OB/GYN with that group- Dr. Perkins was her name I believe.... She was great but the office/medical center gave me a very uncomfortable feeling..(Dark halls, older equipment etc.) Not what you would expect from a center thats associated with a research University. Like I said this was a one-time visit for me. Hope this helps, good luck.

P.S. I have heard great things about The Womens Group affiliated with St Joe's as well.

I went to the The Women's Group for my OB care and saw a lot of post menopausal women there, too. They have two offices (New Tampa and near St. Joe's Hospital) and I had good experiences with pretty much all the doctors. Good luck!

I am not sure what your grandmother's issues are, but I know how frustrating it can be when your don't have a good relationship with your doctor! I can personally recommend 2 different Drs, although they are in Tampa. I have used them both and am still with the one practice, and have been for 12 years. The first Dr is Deborah Trehy (she is on St Isabel St, near St Joseph Hospital) and the second is Dr Madelyn Butler with The Woman's Group (they have locations by St Joseph as well as by USF. I started out with Dr Trehy, but left when I became pregnant as she only does gynecology. I am still with Dr Butler and The Woman's Group and can say all of the Drs I have seen there are wonderful. Both Drs have really listened to me and taken a lot of time to talk with me. While you may wait sometimes at The Woman's Group (due to deliveries and emergencies)I feel Dr Butler is worth the wait, I have never felt like I was a "number" or rushed out. Dr Trehy was very much the same way, and since she doesn't deliver anymore, she specializes in Gynecology issues. A little background on me, both of my grandmother's have had cancer. One had uterine and one had breast, my aunt was just diagnosed 6 months ago with ovarian and uterine cancer. I have many more in my family, I myself have had 3 tumors removed form my breast (all benign, praise God) and have had to have a D&C, laporoscopy, hysteroscopy, and cyst removal. Performed by a Dr at The Woman's Group who has since moved out of state. Dr Butler delivered both of my kids (one at 11 pounds, a high risk delivery and the other was high risk from the beginning) I have had numerous "female" problems and have several different medical conditions plus a high family cancer risk. I am telling you this because I am EXREMELY picky about my Drs. I need someone who will listen and be very thorough and pro-active about my health. I feel your Grandmother would be safe going to either Dr Trehy or Dr Butler. I hope you find someone who can help her and will say a prayer for her. Good Luck!
