My daughter is 4, and has never had a haircut. Her hair is very long (down to her butt), curly, and beautiful. For the summer, though, she needs a shorter hairdo so she doesn't overheat this year. I have talked to her about donating her hair to Locks of Love, and she is very excited to do it. She tells people that she is going to help another little girl.
So my question is, where is a good place to do this? Are there specific salons that do this, or do I need to go to anyplace and then send the hair in myself?
I am also open to hearing about other places other than Locks of Love that take hair donations!
From what I understand certain salons do this. I had mine cut a few years ago from my stylist at Ulta. I believe there is a website, locksoflove.org where I found a participating location. Good luck!
That is wonderful that she is donating her hair! I recently donated 13 inches to Locks of Love, which requires at least a 10 in. donation. The salon that cut my hair offered to send it in for me, and I believe most do. I sent mine in myself as I wanted to take some pictures first. There is also Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which only requires a 7 in. donation. Either will send you a certificate to thank you for you generosity!

Hi M.. That is so great that your daughter wants to donate her hair. I have 2 daughters and they both have done this. My stylist cuts hair out of her home so I have sent it in myself. I know there are salons that will send it in for you but be sure they include your daughters name and address because Locks of Love will send her a thank you letter. Good luck and have fun.
