In California (I just signed up my 7 yr old twins)the kids can be in 4-H, but cannot show large animals until they are 9 years old. My girls can do chickens and rabbits. Since I am the goat leader...I am purchasing Nigerian Dwarf goats for the girls to be registered under their name and they will show "open division" at the fair. Hopefully they will have two years experience by the time the 4-H group allows them to show with them. I heard it was a liability issue. California tends to be a bit stricter on the rules, so you might need to follow up with your local group. I found the info by going on the internet and doing a search for 4-H and my county. ask around the school firer house the grosery store. Have your daughter to ask around to some of here freinds.that place ins no that big .lived ther once i loved it to excppensive for me.

they have a good place to get good food if you all want to chek out. what about the town hall.
