Living Will Through an Online Site?

We would like to put a basic will in order, especially to state who should get custody of our kids should anything happen to both of us.

I was thinking of doing it online in order to save some money (we really don’t have a lot of assets, so it would be an “easy” will I believe)

Have you done this yourself? Do you have any sites to recommend?

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I think Legalzoom.com is a decent site, but I would really go to a lawyer. Also, just so that you understand, a living will and a will are not the same thing. A will is a document that tells how your assets are to be disbursed after your death (and assigns a guardian for your children). A living will is a document that states your healthcare wishes if you are unable to make them for yourself - you can assign a healthcare proxy to make your decision, discuss your wishes about DNR's and life support, organ donation, etc. good luck!

We used legalzoom.com to incorporate our business and they did a great job for us for a reasonable price. I believe they do wills also (any kind of legal documents, really).

Hi,

You can get the forms online. If you're interested, check out my booklet
"In The Event of My Death" at www.moonelightpublishing.blogspot.com.
If you're interested, I could find the NY version of the forms I include in
my booklet, which is geared to Pennsylvanians. Suze Orman has a booklet out, too, which covers all states. Her booklet costs around $15.
