Was just curious to know if anyone else has a child that is a sweaty sleeper and if yes, is there anything you done that help the situation? My son is such a sweaty sleepr that he leaves huge sweat spots on his sheets or anyting that he sleeps on, so I am constantly changing his clothes and sheets. He has done this since he was born but it seems to happening more often now (or maybe I am just noticing it more). I thought maybe that I was dressing him too warm but does not matter what I have him in or the temp in the room!

What can I do next?

My little guy was just like that - he grew out of it by the time he was about 2 1/2. Don't worry!

oh man! my daughter is such a little heat bucket at night, she sweats, kicks the blankets off , and now that she is almost 2 1/2 she is taking her P.J.'s off at night. EVen when it is very cool int he room. Baths help before bed time, try leaving socks and heavy stuff off of him. BUt i feel you, my daughter no matter what I dress her in sweats. herr hair is usually soaked when she wakes up. She is just warm blooded. I was told by my mom as a child I was the same way, a very warm baby! don't worry, just do a lot of launry! Lol. all kids are different, your son is just a member of the warm blooded baby culb!

Hi C.,

I just asked my 8 month old son's doctor the same thing. She said as long as there is no fever or any other sign of illness, not to worry. She also said to just dress him for bed however I am dressed. I guess don't worry about dressing him too warm or too cold, just dress him based on what's appropriate for the temperature. Some kids are just sweaty sleepers apparently! Hope this helps!

hi C.,

I am also a mommy of a sweaty sleeper. My 2 year old son is constantly sweating. I have not only adjusted his clothing, but his feeding times. It seems that if I feed him someting too heavy within 2 hours before bedtime, he sweats even more. First, try adjusting his snack or lunch before naptime. If you see a difference, try it before bedtime. Also, baths right before bedtime help somewhat- for us at least. Good luck! A. M.

same with my 20 month old daughter, sometimes there's a huge wet spot on the sheets or pillow, some day she's not sweaty at all, even if temp. in the room is cool and she's not dresses too warm. doctor told us that some kids sweat at night more than others, nothing to worry about

My son is 19 months old and has been this way too for as long as I can remember- even if we had the AC on in the room, he was a sweaty sleeper (and still is)... I figured that he does his growing while sleeping..

My 4yr old is a sweaty sleeper. His bed is near the window so I make sure it is open at least a crack to get some cool air. He has slight ocd so when he fall asleep he needs the blanket. So when I go to bed I make sure I uncover him. You could alway try a fan blowing around the room just to cool it down a little. Sorry I can't give more advice. Maybe talk to your ped.

I dont' have an answer for you, but I can tell you, you're not alone! My almost 3 year old's the same way.. doesn't matter what the temperature in the room is, or how I dress her for the night, I'll go in to check on her in the middle of the night, and her hair's always sticking to her face from the sweat... she's always damp from it. Pretty wacko, I wonder what it is! LOL

hello,
i have a 21 month old that sweats alot too. All my children do. He hates the blanket. He gets sweat spots also. I wouldn't worry too much. I do dress him in lighter clothes, until it gets real cold. He had his air conditioner on last night and i live in brooklyn,ny. We sleep on the second floor. It's very stuffy up there. I wouldn't worry too much.
