Leptorexin or Apidexin
Hi!
I'm trying to figure out which product I can take to help me lose my baby weight. I'm 5'2 and currently weight 150. I'd like to lose anywhere from 20 to 30 pounds. I have started eating better but...here's the kicker...I have broken my foot. It has been 6 weeks since I broke it. I went to the dr to have it re-xrayed and it hasn't even started healing. SO, I have to stay off of it for another month and if nothing then, I have to have surgery. I said all of that to say, I want to exercise but right now I can not. I need something that I can at least start my weight loss. I have researched the internet and have decided on either one of these products. Has anyone taken either one of them? I typically am a pretty active person and never have had a problem with my weight...just need a little boost to get me going!!
Thanks so much!

As a physical therapist, I am really opposed to weight loss medicines. So many of them have very harmful side effects, often damaging the heart. They are just not worth the risk unless you are extrememly overweight/morbidly obese and/or at risk of chronic illness.
What CAN you do? Here are some alternatives. First, just because your foot is broken, doesn't mean you can't exercise. You can't run, or walk much, but you can strengthen, which is very helpful for weight loss. The more muscle you build, the more calories you burn and more weight you lose. You can go to a gym and have a trainer show you some options. Or, if you have health insurance, it may be cheaper to ask your doctor for a prescription for a visit to a physical therapist, who can write out an exercise plan for you.
Also, there are 2 parts to the weight loss equation. To lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you eat. Another angle you might take is to watch your intake. The only thing that's ever worked for me, and it works well, is to try to limit your meals to no more than what would fit into a coffee cup. And, only eat when you are hungry, not just because it's supper time. If you eat a small meal and get hungry a little later, eat a small snack, but only if you are truly hungry. It's amazing how well that plan works, and you get to eat whatever you want, as long as it's not too much! I hope these suggestions help. It's a bummer to be sidelined with an injury, but just a temporary delay.

C., I never had a weight problem until about 3 years ago. Believe it or not, I was 5'7" and 175 lbs. I had a 28" waist and very powerful upper and lower body. Met a man, got happy and still weighed 175 with a 32" waist. I am also diabetic. Recently, around November, my Doc told my to take PGX. I've lost 24 lbs. and my habits have changed ZERO. My blood sugar has stabalized and I am again off of meds. My metabolism has increased and I am 43 years old raising a baby. I am not one to promote any diuretic, but this stuff is differant. It is actually GOOD for you. Check it out and decide for yourself. The only bad thing I have ever read about it is that anorexia has been a very SMALL issue. Talk to your doc. He knows best. N.

I am currently home on maternity leave (4 weeks old now) but normally work in an outpatient rehab setting. I personally need to lose more of my baby weight too; however, regarding your question about supplements, I would lay off...probably not what you wanted to hear. There are a lot of exercies you can do that don't require weight bearing on that broken foot. Cardio is the kicker... any time you increase your heart rate, you begin to burn calories. Check out other options before you jump to alternative means to get the weight off....you'll still have the baby belly and jelly to contend with if you don't go about the weight loss the right way.

Hi, C.. Please be very careful of taking these medicines. They have very bad adverse effects, some turn into lifelong problems. I feel that you need to talk to your doctor about some diet pills or maybe even a very healthy meal plan.

C.,
I went to the weight loss physican in Lil Kansas, OK- Dr. Blake. He gives you meds that you take at 10a.m and again at 3 but the 10 is all I usually need. These help with your hunger. Plus he tells you how many calories to eat a day. Usually around 1200-1300 a day. and don't forget snacks. Anyways I lost 15 lbs (before the holidays) and I didn't work out. He also has B12 shots that you can take every 5-7 days and they help block the fat. I really like these shots b/c I don't feel so tired all the time and I lose inches.
Also I tried other meds and they made me really shaky so I would talk to a Dr. before taking anything over the counter. Good luck

I completely understand your worry here. I had my baby 4 months ago and have 30lbs to lose too. I am having foot surgery in a few weeks and am worried about not being able to exercise as well. I'm going to have surgery on my left foot then once that is healed, my right so I am going to be out of it for a while. I am way too afraid to try any kind of weight loss pill. I am going to do what I can as my body heals though. I know running is absolutely out but I will try to ride a bicycle as soon as my feet allow it. While I am stuck in bed after the surgery I plan to work on my upper body and abdominals. My goal is honestly not to gain any weight after the surgery, rather than setting an unreachable goal of losing weight. We can't expect too much from our bodies when it isn't at 100%

Hi C.,
I have never taken Leptorexin but I did take Adipex for about a month. I do not recommend it at all. You do lose weight quite easily on it, but the side effects aren't worth it.The entire time I was taking it, I felt horrible. It was like the worst PMS ever and it never went away (unitl I stopped taking it). It also makes your heart race and makes you feel very jittery. Not to mention, as soon as you quit taking it, the weight comes back. I would recommend finding another product if you are going to take something for weight loss.

When I broke my leg several year ago, I found a gym with a hand bike (basically you sit and pedal with your hands/arms) - I would think some bigger places would have this. I could not walk on my leg for 5 1/2 months to avoid surgery. I would also consider swimming or more like standing in a pool doing some exercises with your arms and upper body if there is a YMCA etc with a pool nearby. You get a lot of resistance from water but its easy on joints etc. There are a lot of things that you can do to lose weight without being on your feet and while avoiding drugs - most of those medications are still new and not well researched and always seem to end up having some side effects. The one that sounds the safest is probably something like Alli which makes you malabsorb fat and essentially gives you diarrhea if you eat badly - not pleasant but a deterrant nontheless. Good luck, I know it's tough.
