Probably not but he will quickly warm up with you and remember you if you let him adjust at his own pace.

I think your baby will remember you, but there's a good chance he will give you the "cold shoulder." It's extremely difficult for an infant to be separated from a parent for so long, especially if it's the mother. I don't know the reasoning for your absence, but the best thing for your baby is for you to be around consistently, as much as possible. It can affect a child's development significantly if the attachment process is interrupted. Obviously, there can be circumstances that cannot be avoided, but you should do whatever is necessary to be a constant presence for your child.

I have to agree with Marda. Don't get frustrated if he doesn't take to you right away. Go slow. Be very warm and happy and he will take to you. =)

I think it's going to depend on how much time you spent with him before you had to leave. He may remember you but be reluctant to get too close in fear that you will leave again. Give it time and try not to let his behavior hurt your feelings, his feelings may have been hurt when you left.

Probably not. Ask whomever has been caring for him to show him photos of you if they haven't already. At 10 months many babies have stranger anxiety so be prepared. Offer a toy too - bribery can help.

If you have something that smells of you that is accessible to the baby, make sure his or her current caregiver puts that item on or around the baby at all times. Even at 10 months old, babies still have an amazing preference for their mother's smell, and that my help with the reintroduction process. Just go slow, and try very hard not to be gone again for that length of time any time soon. One interruption shouldn't do any harm, but multiple separations are not healthy. Best wishes!
