Leaky Diapers

My 13 month old daugher wets through her diapers in the middle of the night, every night. I've already cut back on the amount of milk and water she gets after dinner which has not made a difference. I've been using Pampers Cruisers, does anyone know of a better diaper for overnight so she doesn't wake up wet at 2am? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you all very much for your advice on the leaky diapers! She has cut down on leaks to only 3-4 nights per week instead of every night by going up to size 5 pampers baby dry diapers. The huggies overnights just did not fit her as well. We've also started to put her on the potty seat before her evening bath, which might be helping, too. Thank you all again, I really appreciate your advice!

Honestly, just go up a size on the diaper. Pampers "Baby Dry" seemed to work best.
Since I had a problem with certain diapers which exploded, I called Proctor & Gamble and that was their suggestion was to increase the size. They explained all children hold different amounts of fluids so that is why the diapers range so much in how many pounds the child is for a gauge on what diaper size to choose. (They also sent me a voucher for 10 dollars off diapers!)

I always used huggies and never had an issue in the middle of the night. They also have the overnight diapers. I can't remember what they are called though.

I had that problem with my (now) 2 year old. After much advice, I switched to the Target brand, and got a size larger. My 11 month old has always had the Target brand diapers, and I've never had a problem with leaks. Plus, they're so much cheaper!

I would try the overnite diapers. I think huggies makes them. They work well.

I would recommend trying a few different brands. Oddly enough the way babies sleep and their bodies causes gaps and leaks in different brands so what might work for one baby might not work for another and price doesn't always guarantee a great diaper for overnight. We lucked out for over a year and the generic Wal-mart brand worked the absolute best in one size larger than what my daughter normally wore during the day. But then we started getting leaks again and we tried Luvs, Huggies, and finally settled on Pampers. They've worked great for awhile. Now we're almost at the end of potty-training and she only wears the Huggies overnights. Good luck!!

Make sure to pull the top up and the edges around her legs; this seals the gap.
We use the cheap diapers from Aldi and have never had a problem with leaks.

L.,

I have a son who is 14 months now and weighs 29 lbs...he is a big solid boy and I too have went through MANY diapers to find one that will work for him...He drinks his bottles like a fish. What I have found to work is Huggies Supreme Natural Fit. They have worked great for us and believe me they can hold a TON as I've taken diapers off of him after a good nights sleep that were VERY full and VERY heavy! We just kept buying small pkgs of diapers until we found one that worked..then we went and bought a big box of them. I have also found that when Aiden was leaking through it helped to move up to the next size. He is now in a size 5 diaper. Hope this helps.

Huggies Overnights!! I've used them with my son since about 1 yr old. They only come in size 4 and 5 but even if she doesn't wear size 4 yet, it'll work!! They are wonderful and my son has never leaked through them!

I use the huggies overnights diapers, one size up from what we normaly wear and that does the trick most of the time. good luck!

My son is almost 13 mos and I just switched him to Huggies Overnights. I used them for my daughter too. My son is still in size 3 diapers, but I have only found the Overnights in size 4, but they fit and work really well.

I always used parents choice diapers for my daughter and never had a problem with her leaking through the night. You can buy them at walmart if this helps.
