Leaky Diaper at Night

My 11 month old son is a belly sleeper. He goes to bed with a fresh diaper and when he wakes up in the morning he is soaked through. We have used Pampers and are now trying Luvs, but haven't had much change. Any suggestions on what to do different? Are there any other diapers out there that work better at keeping him drier at night?

What can I do next?

Thank you for all the wonderful advice. I went with the majority and tried the Huggies Overnights. It has only been a few nights, but so far so good!!!! Thanks again!

We found using the next size up seemed to help. I think the larager diapers have a bit more liquid capacity. We use Huggies (not the Supremes). We use the bigger size at night, and the size down the rest of the day. Has worked fairly well.

I have a 21 month old boy, but we started using Night Time Pullups since he was about 7 months old. Just recently I also stopped giving him milk/juice/water after dinner.

I have tried huggies night time diapers. I couldn't really tell if they were any more absorbant except the fact that my son's pajamas were not wet. THere are many night time "GoodNights" but they are too big for this young of children. Good luck!

I think the most important point to make here is that for lack of a better way to put it, make sure his package is pointing south. Boys tend to pee through at night because we tend to not "adjust" when we diaper them. Hook one side of the diaper and then adjust him and hook the other side. This works like a charm. Also, make sure you are using a large enough diaper and that you are fastening it tight enough.

Good luck!

We have always used the walmart white cloud brand and to me they work really well. We don't have any leaking problems, unless they are getting too small. They are stretchy and and seem comfortable for my son.

I also want to give props to Huggies Overnights. Used them on both of my boys starting at about 6 months old. I think I also often had to use a size bigger for bedtime. You can get them at Target and Babies R Us. Cub and Rainbow sometimes have select sizes, too.

Huggies makes a great night time diaper!!

Huggies Overnights were the only diapers that worked for my kids at night.

Try cloth - they are bulkier and absorb more. You can use a diaper service - available everywhere. Diaper covers also exist to make them more colorful and easier to use without pins.

I used cloth for 5 years between two kids. They work great, are soft and gentle, are better for the environment and are enormously absorbent.

I second the use cloth, but the prior poster didn't mention that cloth diapers aren't the cloth diapers everyone is used to. We use diaper covers (NOT plastic pants) that are soft and keep my son from leaking (Thirsties covers are what we use, and they can be used more than once before washing) with prefolds (greenmountaindiapers.com Cloth eeze prefolds) snappied on (no pins!). If your son is such a heavy wetter at night, you can use a cloth doubler (someone already suggested this, but I'm going to suggest a better way), you just put it in the cover with the prefold and *poof* all done. Cloth can be just as easy as disposables, and they only had a few extra loads of laundry a week (and easy loads too, because they don't have to be folded).

My daughter did the same thing. Although I loved Pampers, the Huggies Night Night dipars did the trick. Good luck...
