yep, it's colostrum. It's a good thing--a good sign you'll have a healthy supply after the baby is born.

I think that happened to me some too. I just found this at babycenter.com:

Question: I'm pregnant and I'm beginning to feel my breasts getting ready for breastfeeding. Is it normal for them to leak a bit?

Answer: Many mothers begin to leak colostrum (sometimes called premilk) while they're pregnant, typically sometime in the third trimester. Other expectant moms don't. Either way, it's normal. You might want to wear nursing pads in your bra to protect your clothes if you're leaking. You can buy these at most drugstores.

Colostrum is a thick, yellowish fluid that contains antibodies that help protect new babies from infections. If you choose to breastfeed, this precious liquid will nourish your baby until your milk comes in. Colostrum has more protein, but less carbohydrate and fat than mature breast milk. It's easy to digest and has just the right amount of nutrients a baby needs in the first few days after birth.

i am not sure this is much help other than knowing that you are not alone, but this also happened to me when i was pregnant with my son. mostly when i would lay on my side ( so i would always wake up in the morning with a gross puddle beside me) or when i was real comfortable like slouchy... hope that helps some...

This is colostrum, the "liquid gold" that the baby will drink for the first few days before your milk comes in. It's packed full of vitamins and antibodies that will seal your little one's intestines and give him/her the start they need. Congratulations! It's perfectly normal and just means that everything is in working order. Good luck to you.

Hi A.,
This is called colostrum and what you are experiencing is very normal. Your breasts will continue to produce colostrum until after delivery. Once the baby is born, if you put it to the breast, the act of breastfeeding will cause your body to produce "mature" milk.

Like everyone else said, it's colustrum. It's harmless, but can be a little irritating. Try buying some breast pads and putting them in your bra, they will absorb whatever leaks out. Good luck with your pregnancy!

Hi A.! I am definately not a doctor, so I say if anything has you very concerned- even if everybody else says it's "normal"- call your OB. That's what a big nursing staff is for! As for the leaking, I started that about half way through my pregnancy. I'm pretty sure at that point it is the colostrum, not actually milk. Mine was either clear or a little yellowish, so maybe find out about the color. I got A LOT of milk by birth time, and eventually I was grateful for the leaks- to relieve the pressure! Good luck, Dear, and congratulations on your healthy progress.

that is your colostrum it is what comes in before your milk. nothing to be worried about , if it gets to where its leaking alot then go get some breast pads to put in your bra. i'm 34 weeks now and have been leaking for a while but my doctor said don't worry about it!!!

A.,

This is very normal. During my first pregnancy I was trying on some nursing bras and actually had some fluid SPURT out! Scared me senseless! lol But my doctor assured me it was normal. When you go in for your next visit mention it to your doctor for extra reassurance or, if you are overly concerned about it, call the office.

Good luck and Congrats!

It's just a little colostrum (not sure if I spelled that right.) It's normal for some women to experience this. It's not your milk - Don't panic. It may stop or you may experience it the rest of your pregnancy. If you need nursing pads. Lansinoh (in the purple box) are the best.
