Lazer Hair Removal for Men

How effective is lazer hair removal for men?
I was told once that peach fuzz is hard or impossible
to remove. I wondered if coarser hair (beard on the
neck in front and hairline on back of neck) is
successfully removed and how many treatments
it would take. Thanks for any information.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Also, at what intervals should the lazer treatments take place
to be most effective.

I don't recall how many treatments my husband had, but he had the beard area on the neck done and it didn't stick. It thinned it out for a while and now it might be slightly less than it was before as I don't notice his neck getting as irritated from shaving, but he still has to shave it daily.

His beard is multi-colored (red, blonde, brown) so that could have been a factor in its effectiveness.

Since you don't have many answers, I will give you my two bits.

I had my arms done. My skin tone is olive and my hair is dark brown. I can't remember how many treatments I had, but it was over a 6 month period. The hair would come back in patches until it finally stopped coming back. It is about 7 - 8 years later and the hair that is there is sparse and much more fine. Every once in a while I will shave them, but I really don't need to. It was well worth it to me, because I HATED my hairy arms.

Oh and it burned a little. I imagine the neck would be a bit more sensitive.

The lady who does mine told me that she has just as many men coming in as women. When you have laser done you shave prior to the treatment anyway, so peach fuzz should be doable. The number of treatment really depends on the individual. Hair grows in cycles so it will be a minimum of 3 treatments spread out over several weeks. The best candidate for laser is a person with hair darker than their skin tone. I go to a dermatologist, not all lasers are created equal or appropriate for all ethnic backgrounds, keep that in mind, if that applies to him.

Good Luck!!

Probably more effective than for women, since it works better on darker, coarser hair.

When guys go for laser hair removal, it's usually for their backs.
Some guys are hairy beasts.
I suppose if the treatment goes on for long enough they might be able to thin out some beard areas.

You have to have dark hair and light skin for the lazer to be effective. Since the hair you mention is pretty thick, the man would probably need to go at least 4-5 times over the course of 4-6 months. Dermatologists charge much more than lazer technicians.

my oldest brother had it done. they charged him by the squar inch. i belive he had to have his entire back done four times and he still wants more. to me hairy men are more many and i am attracted to older men that no longer look like a teen or early twentys young man.

my son was born quite hairy (peach fuzzy) on his back and my brother suggested we do the lazor now while his back is small and wont cost so much. he was joking of course. and i would never do this as it is very painful.
