Hi,

I went to Kraff as well. They are amazing, very professional and detail oriented. I did it in Sept of 2001 and it was been one of the best decisions that I have ever made! I do not know of 1 person who went to Kraff that has been disappointed but I do know of many people who have had lasik and had complications who went elsewhere. Good Luck to you!

I had Lasic surgery done at Kraff eye institute in February 03. I think the address is 25 E. Washington. I was VERY pleased with the entire process.

I went to the Kraff Eye Institute on Wacker as well. I had it done in February 2006 and so far I have had no problems at all. I have had four friends go there as well and they are all VERY happy with the results. Dr. Kraff is very highly recommended!

I had a wonderful Lasik experience - and I would do it again if I had to. (My surgery was performed at Southwest Eye Physicians in Palos Hills, Il). To be frank, its not the location you choose, but the physician that makes your experience a good one. These Lasik locations bascially provide a laser and a facility for doctors to come in and perform the surgery. So, if you want to keep costs down, I highly recommend finding an experienced Lasik surgeon and have the surgery performed at the hospital they are on staff at (i.e., RUSH).

Hi Saori,

I had Lasik done last November. I went to Nothwestern Hospital. I saw Dr Feder (a mamasource referral). He was written up in Chicago Magazine a couple of years ago. Take a look at their website. www.northwesternlaservision.com. I had surgery on one eye since my other wasn't as bad. Believe it or not, my non surgery eye has gotten stronger. There are different types of surgery. I had PRK done (not as invasive). It cost $2,300 for the one eye and I am covered for all exams for one year. You go back about every three months or so for check-ups. I would do it again if I had to, but the sensitivity to light for a few days (for me anyway) was pretty bad.

Good luck.

I didn't get my lasik done here in Chicago, but I would look for someone who uses the laser to cut the flap rather than the blade. That's what I did and I love it! I have large pupils and other surgeons told me that I would have night halos, etc because of having large pupils, but the surgeon with the laser cut said that it gave him more room to work and that I might not have any halos or other negative side effects. I don't have any halos and I see better now at night than I did with contacts. Good luck!!

P.S. Make sure that you get someone who has a two year free adjustment period too - my sister-in-law had to have corrections after her initial surgery and you don't want to be stuck where you can't get that done for free. Also, go for custom lasik - it is very worth it.

I had it done in Jan of this year and it was the best thing I have ever had done. I had it done in Highland Park by Dr.Randy Epstein. He is with Chicago Cornea. I know he does the surgery every other week at Rush. I have had about 7 friend have it done by him to. He is the greatest out there. I couldn't be happier. I also have a two year old, and she would also pull of my glasses. So I am so glad I did it. My vison is 20/20 in one eye and better then 20/20 in the other eye. Good Luck

I didn't have lasik but my husband did in dec2006. He is extremely happy with the results. He went to the northwestern as wel to a professor (i can find the name if you want). I know he isn't cheap and its hard to get in but my husband is very picky and was extremely satisfied.

I also highly recommend Kraff Eye Institute. I had PRK b/c I did not qualify for lasik and it has been wonderful. I had my procedure done in Jan of 2002. My sister just had the procedure done last year without complications at Kraff as well.

Hi Saori,

I had Lasik Surgery 18 months ago and my husband last month at the downtown location. We have had no problems so far. I do recommend that you take lots of magazines since you should expect to be there for a few hours. The surgery will only be a few minutes, but the waiting time is much longer. My husband’s appointment was @ 10:00am and he didn’t go in to the surgery room until after 2:00pm. Just keep this in mind.
Good Luck!

I went to Lasik Plus. There's a few locations throughout Chicagoland. The best part is that my doctor was named Dr. Fagman. No joke. But, he was awesome. My mom went to him first and had such a good experience that I went to him too. I highly recommend Dr. Fagman.
