Lamaze Classes
My husband and I are looking for any information on lamaze class or instruction. Any ideas? We have missed the deadline to do classes with Medical City. Thanks for any help.

A.,
I advise you to take the lamaze class at the hospital you will deliver at. They usually give a tour and let you know about specific details of the hospital policy. If you just can not take it there Presby dallas did a good job.
best wishes

presbyterian Hospital of Plano offers alot of classes often and they are good. I think they even offer a crash course- my opinion it doesnt do any good anyhow once you are in there you just do whatever you can regardless of what you have been taught:-) best of luck

I don't know if this is too far for you, but I took classes at Presby Plano and enjoyed them. They have a description of classes and times on their website presbyplano.com. Hope this helps, good luck!

I took the Lamaze Classes at Presby Plano. They have information on their website about class times/dates. I also took the Bradley Class by a Doula who lives in Richardson. I ended up having a natural, no medication or epidural at the Presby Plano hospital. If you are open to that idea, I really recommend it. Fortunately, I was in labor only for 3 1/2 hours which is really uncommon for a first time mom. Even if you do plan on having an epidural I still recommend taking the Bradley class because it teaches you about relaxation techniques and nutrition during your pregnancy. I dropped 25 pounds 2 weeks after giving birth. I was breastfeeding and I also ate healthy during/after my pregnancy. http://www.naturalbeginningsonline.com/

Hope this helps! Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I do not know of any instructors in this area, but I took the Bradley classes. Not sure how indepth you want, but the 12 week course was wonderful and I was able to go through labor and 2 hours of pushing drug free. It was an amazing experience. I also took the hospital's 'childbirth' class, but did not feel it was near as helpful in preparing me as the other. Anything is better than nothing though. I am sending the website and to the left it says "find an instructor"; I saw a lady on there in Allen that may be doing classes. I hope this helps; if you want more info about the classes or books I read, feel free to contact me. I don't want to bombard you if you are not interested. Good luck.
