My father drives a school bus part time, and he has told me some CRAZY stories about very young children kissing and doing other inappropriate things in the back of the bus. 4th and 5th graders in his district are caught kissing and "feeling" each other on a regular basis. The thought is that these young girls want to impress and get the boys to like them! I was floored listening to the stories. Kids these days are way too quick to pretend to be older than they are. And it makes you wonder where they even learn this stuff?

Last year when my now 7 year old son was in kindergarten, I recieved a call from his teacher saying him and a girl in his class had kissed in class. She told them that it was inaropriate and called both sets of parents. The teacher laughed and said it was very cute actually, My son is a very affectionate kid who is every bodys friend, very outgoing. I'm sure he or the girl meant nothing by it just expressing friendship. We sat him down and explained that this wasn;t allowed in school and he was too young for this. There has been no problems since. I never had a problem with it as I know they didn't mean anything by it and how do kids learn what is exceptable behavior if we don't tell them. They are exposed to plenty of unappectable behavior all the time. Just have a talk with your son about what your expectations are and his as well.

The other day I was talking to my 8 year old cousin who just recently found out that I was pregnant. Here was our conversation:
"I can't wait till I have my baby," my cousin said.
I laughed and replied, "Jillian, you don't even know how to have a baby."
"Yes, I do!"
"Oh, ya? So how do you do it?"
"First a girl gets naked and lies on a bed with a guy. Then she kisses him a lot and they make funny noises. Then a baby get's in the girl's tummy. When Tommy (Her best friend) sleeps over next weekend, I'm gonna make him give me a baby."
I was shocked! And don't worry, I called her mom up and told her to think twice before letting Tommy sleep over again. So ya, kids are definitely doing things a lot younger now a days. I remember the days when I was shocked that a 9th grader in my school was pregnant. I found out a few days ago that there is a 6th grader in my sisters' school that is pregnant!
I suggest talking to both your son and your daughter and just letting them know that they are too young to be doing things like that.

that is scary! I don't have a child in school yet, but I didn't kiss until I was 15 :) I know that it is normal for young ones to experiment, but just have a conversation that kissing usually is between older people who dearly love each other GOOD LUCK

Our school district starts middle school at 6th grade, where many of the children are only 10. And yes hand holding and kissing do take place.

Well, when I was 7 I had a boyfriend and we kissed a lot under the tire things in the playground. We even had a friend of his tell us about when he was on vacation he saw a couple naked in the pool together. So we then kissed with our shirts up. Fastforward 13 years and here I am a single mom. I was really a good girl about no sex until I realized I never rebelled against anything in my teen years. I really think you should worry only if his personality warrants a concern. He could just be following instructions of the girl. He might be bullied into it. So perhaps ask him if that's his doing or her telling him.

NO! My daughter is in 3rd grade and I have not heard that yet. My son is in 6th grade and I have not heard it from him either. Both my kids are pretty open to telling me things like that. I haven't heard it from other mothers either. I too would have a heart attack if that was happening in my kids elementary class. Good Luck
