Has anyone had any experience with Kindermusik? I'm thinking of signing up for a session with my 6 mo. old son.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for the fabulous response. With so many positive anecdotes, I've decided to register us for Kindermusic because it's the program closest to where we live. We start in two weeks and I cannot wait! Thanks again!

I attend Kindermusik classes with my 7 month old and with my 2 1/2 year old - two seperate classes. my 2 1/2 years old started about 6 months old. we really love the classes - it helps the the bonding(massage), labeling movement (fast, slow, stop), exploring with the music. The teacher explains how all that is done in class helps in so many areas of development in everyday things. gives material to take home and read for the adult and child along with a cd of the music for the class.
my 7 month old has really become aware of 'the world' so to say. like time to play with the balls rolling helps in tracking movement while so much (other balls) is moving around them. i love being in a group of others with the same age range also. i highly recommend the class

I would highly recommend Kindermusik. Both of my children attended the classes at Delightful Sounds, and I have been a Kindermusik educator for 6 years. It is a wonderful way to meet other mothers with children the same age as yours while having fun and learning about your child's development. I am proud to say that all of the teachers in my facility are certified by the state as specialists in infant and toddler development, which is not something you will find anywhere else. We offer classes specially designed for babies, and the tuition is $10 per week. I would be happy to have you attend a free class to try it out! Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Kindermusik is awesome!, I stared with my baby girl when she was 6 months and I continued until she was 4. I LOVE IT!, we had such a great experience, she is 5 now and we still sing some of their songs. Now I go with my baby boy and He loves it too!(he is 2), we are having a great time. Are you in the Naples, Fl area?, if you are go to the philharmonic they are wonderful and Miss Susie is the best!. Good luck and I hope you can experience Kindermusik too. Have fun!

Hi A.,

My daughter and I attended kindermusik classes with Linda and she was great. My daughter had a blast. We also do strollerfit classes so we had to let go of our music to workout, but Tahlia was 7 months when we started and she had fun with the other little ones. If you go tell Linda T. and Tahli say "Hi"

Good luck

I've taken my kids on and off for the last 5 years, its fun, exciting, and both my boys really enjoyed it! For us it was expensive, but occassionally we were able to enjoy it :) It really is just about playing music with your kids, exploring ways to play with music, and enjoying the time together - Good luck - I hope you have as much fun as we did !

It's wonderful to know you are seeking music for your little one. The earlier the better! I am a Musikgarten teacher which is the second and ne improved edition of Kindermusik. There have been changes to the curriculum and the music but either way it is a fabulous method. Children love it and being a mom and a music teacher I can tell you the benefits are outstanding. Some children grasp to it quickly others take a few lessons to warm up, but what child does not like music? You will enjoy bonding with your child and watching him smile with enthusiasm. It's a great experience to see how their attention spans grow and how social they become. Once the children pass the different stages of music for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, I start them on instruments like piano or violin and they pick up quickly. The moms in my groups love it to. Of course I do this from home for right now since I moved to FL a year ago. I hope you enjoy. Please let me know if I can help you in any other way.

My friend has her daughter in it and she loves it. The daughter is three. In my opinion, six months is a little too young. Just buy a nice CD with that money so you'll have it forever. They won't know the difference.

I have not heard of Kindermusik, but I have heard of Musikgarten. Katherine Hintz, another mom on mamasource, teaches this method. Her classes are amazing and the children completely enjoy it and learn from it. I have a 3 year old son that loves music. She lets them play all sorts of instruments (different kinds of drums, violin, guitar, etc.). She teaches rythm, timing, and instruction. Her rates are EXTREMELY reasonable!!!! You should look into her classes, which she does out of her home. I can email you her bio and her next session information, which will start in a few weeks, if you like. Just email me back with your email address and I will forward it to you. I am also pretty sure you can find her web page on mamasource as she is listed as a mom owned business.

Good luck! Music is a wonderful thing to teach children!!

I believe you can try your first Kindermusik class for free to see if it's something your son would like. Just contact the instructor before you go. It's never too early to expose your child to music, so enjoy!

Music class with babies is really fun. We have done both Kindermusik and Music Together, and for us, Music Together was a better fit. My son had trouble (at age 1-2) just sitting in my lap in a circle and singing, and the Music Together class philosophy was much more relaxed about letting the children react spontaneously to the music. There is a quiet moment for a lullaby, a time to dance with teddybears or a parachute, and a time to bang on drums and all kinds of instruments in a jam session. Also, it's not broken up by age, so there is a variety of kids from birth to age 4 or so. So whole families can come together. It's nice to see the older kids show the babies what they can do!

I have worked around Debbie Mondale for years and have watched her do her kindermusik class and she is wonderful. Kids have came and started at such a young age and has grown up to be bright kids.
