I didn't get mine a gift. After their little grad ceremony he got to pick wherever he wanted to go out for dinner. The kid picked Red Lobster b/c he wanted crab legs and shrimp!

My daughter is not having a graduation in Kindergarten but did have one in preschool at her school. For that, I got her a memorable book and put a message inside for her. We keep it on a special shelf so it stays safe. Hopefully one day when she's older she'll appreciate the words I wrote to her.

ummm....it's Kindergarten!! i didn't get him anything. BUT, we did go out for ice cream after his "graduation". He'll get ballons and a gift when he graduates high school and something even better when he graduates college!

My daughter goes to a privite Christian School. She is graduating (cap and gow and everything), we bought her a little cross necklace with Garnets in it (her birth stone). We wanted to give her a little something and thought the cross necklace was fitting as she asked God to live in her heart this year also.

My daughter in no way is "expecting" anything for graduation. But we want to do something special for her. I think that Kindergarten is a big deal for a 5/6 year old as it is the first step to learning and they do learn so much and grow so much in that first year. There is nothing wrong with celebrating that!

I do not think you need to get her a present. I would take her out for ice cream after the graduation.

I posted this same question a few weeks back. I ended up getting 6 baby roses for my 6 year old and gave her to them after the ceramony. Not too over the top, but a little something. She LOVED them!!

I alos bought her a book based on a recommendation on this site called Only One You. It just arrived yesterday. I had planned to write something nice in it and give it to her on her last day of school. It's a children's book, but after reading it, she will not really get the message of the story. I packed the book away and will give it to her some other time...maybe when she starts middle school or if we transfer her from one school to another sooner than that.

I just bought my pre-school grad a dozen pink roses ($10 at Wal-Mart) and a card. She loved the flowers for herself since she is always giving flowers to various people for this and that. We took a picture for her scrapbook that I'll make for this year in preschool. I also let her pick where we went for lunch - Burger King play place was her choice.
