Kids Hair

Ok reading a question about hair bows made me think about this: Do you wash & condition your kids hair everyday? My kids have allergies and it was suggested to me (by who I don’t know) that I ensure their hair is washed everyday (I was doing every other day) so that the pollen/ dust ect was out of their hair before bed.

What can I do next?

Our kids bathe every other day. Their skin is so sensitve that even at every other day it is tough on them. If I could I would push it to every 3 days, but I cannot so we do every other day.

Yes, my kids have always bathed every night and washed their hair. People have always criticized me for doing this but it was our routine. Our pediatrician recommended it and it does in fact it keep "allergens" down because you are cleaning them away daily. So yes, we do wash and condition hair every night.

I have boys and one with allergies so I do make sure they are showered every day. I saw the post you are talking about! Poor guy!! Trying to get ribbons in his daughter's hair! :)

Washing your hair before bed is the best way to combat allergies for some people.

My boys are also 9 & 11 so we make sure they shower daily too. Since they are getting to that age....

Every other day for the kids around here. Unless there has been a sport activity or a heavy day of playing outdoors after school.

We do every day during the summer due to the amount of time the kids are outside combined with sweat, dirt, mud, etc. During the winter it is every other day, unless they are particularily dirty. The kids skin is so dry during the winter, even with lotion, so it just is better for them.

Living in Florida and since my daughter started school I give her a bath or shower every night (it is still hot out here, like 80 degrees during the day). If we are just hanging around (inside in the air conditioning) the house on the weekends I give her a break on Saturday night.

I do use California Baby soap, conditioner and lotion, they are all natural with no chemicals so I don't worry about using them everyday. When I lived up north she would get a bath every other day unless she was sweaty, dirty or just out of the pool. Kids don’t really need to bathe every day until the teen years when the hormones start.

Try brushing out her hair every night and change the pillow case often.
