Kids Crafts
I need some easy, inexpensive, not real time consuming crafty gifts that can be made by 2nd graders.
Thanks for any ideas.

Ikea has super cheap butcher paper type craft paper.
Give each child a 5' long piece. Have them work with a friend to trace each other and then draw a self portrait from head to toe. They can then use yarn for hair, real buttons glued on for clothes, cut accents out of construction paper, etc... The fun thing with this is it could be a craft they do on more than one day.

ornaments or something involving handprints are always good gift for 2nd graders to make. I have lots of ones I've done before with my K/1st/2nd graders. Let me know about what you are looking for...

Large puzzle pieces - especially where some of the puzzle might be missing - those puzzles with 24 pieces, etc, work well. Paint the puzzle piece and then glue on a pom-pom for a nose, movable eyes and use green or red pipe cleaners to make antlers. Use gold thread to make a loop for hanging on a tree.
Candy canes with a red or green pom-pom and again red or green pipe cleaners for antlers. Glue the pom-pom on the end of the cane. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the neck of the candy cane.
Popsicle sticks glued to make a frame. Paint the sticks after gluing and while wet sprinkle witha little glitter. Use school photos, or take pictures of each child and glue photo into the back of the frame.
Hope this helps.
