Have you looked at IKEA? They have a store in Long Island. I was there on the weekend and saw some beds that I really liked. The prices are great too! Some beds can even grow as your child does. I am trying to put my 20 month old son's room together so bed is the next thing for us as well. Good luck!

We bought from Casco kids 2 times and really liked them. They are out in Selden/Centereach/Coram area. I'm bad with places out that way. Check them out online though.

I live on Long Island also. It depends on what you are looking for. If you would like a Toddler Bed, you can use her crib mattress. We purchased a Toddler Bed for our daughter at Toys R Us. When my son was 2, we purchased a Little Tikes Racecar bed for him, which can use either a twin size mattress or a crib mattress.

I transferred my 2 yr. old son into a "big boy's bed" over the summer when my daughter was born. I went to The Place over by Farmingdale and found them really helpful and he loves his bed. They had lots of nice things for girls as well. Good luck.
