Kiddie Halloween Parties in the Area
I know I'm about 2 months early, but I want to have some ideas before Halloween gets here. Does anyone know of any places in the Naperville/Wheaton area that host cheap/free Halloween parties that are kid & toddler friendly? I'm just looking for an excuse for my son to wear his costume more than once (I ordered it today; I'm wayyyy early.) Or any sort of Halloween themed events would be great too! Thanks!

So What Happened?™
Thanks for all of the great ideas! Some of them I can't believe I didn't think of myself! (I went to Sunny Acres as a child). My moms' group has decided to have a Halloween party for the kids in our group as well, so that should be fun (the RSVP is already up to 45, so I can't be the only one out there that was looking for something fun!) Thanks again guys!

When the date gets closer, look in the Naperville Sun. The downtown stores usually host a trick or treat day going from shop to shop.
I know this sounds strange, but some Dominick's stores have Halloween parties with treats, etc. I think they do an egg hunt at Easter, too.

I just picked up a guide from my son's daycare, it is called the Oaklee's Guide, Fall 2008. You can check out the website www.oakleesguide.com
Good Luck, they have a lot of areas.

Naperville holds a big kid's festival usually the Sunday before Halloween. You should be able to find the info at www.napervilleparks.org(if not email me and I'll look it up in the book). They also do trick or treating downtown usually the same weekend. That's usually on the actual Naperville website.

If you check with your local library they usually have Halloween storytimes that include a costume parade. They are usually the week of Halloween and are free!

Make sure you take him to a pumpkin farm in costume. He'll have a ball. A lot of them host parties with hay rides and things also. There's a big farm on North Ave in the western suburbs and Goebberts Farm out Higgins Rd. Have fun. We've done Goebberts for 30 years at least with out kids and their friends.

J.,
I know you said Naperville/Wheaton.. but just south of there in Bolingbrook they offer a "Halloween Happenings" at the park district. Usually the Friday night before Halloween. It is very age appropriate for little ones.. with a craft area, big jump things.. etc... safe, and free!!
B.B. has one of the best park districts in the country winning tons of awards... and the programs for pre-school age kids are the best..

Cosley zoo in Wheaton always has events where the kids can wear their costumes. They also have a huge pumpkin patch and usually some corn stalk maze thing. Then of course you can walk around the zoo too - it's very small, but cute none the less. I know Brookfield zoo also has a costume contest and things like the weekend before Halloween. Have fun!

naperville has something on saturday AND sunday before the holiday - and so does the brookfield zoo (boo at the zoo) so you have at least 3 chances right there...
I have the same obsession so we'll see you there...
my 3yo keeps changing what she wants to be (tee hee)
right now she wants to be a butterfly - last week it was a frog - who knows what next week will bring
