Kid's Digital Camera
I'm looking into getting an inexpensive digital camera for my daughter for her 4th birthday. I've seen the Fisher Price one, but it's a little too pricey ($79). I was hoping for something in the $20-$30 range. I know there's a Disney princess one that's pretty small and doesn't have the LCD for viewing pictures. Not sure yet if that would be a deal-breaker for my girl. It does apparently have a neat software package for editing pictures and adding Disney themes, etc. Does anyone have any experience with these types of cameras?

I bought a $20 digital camerea for my daughter for Christmas right before she turned 6. I don't recomend it. It takes only 20 pics so I am constantly trying to erase the pictures she took. You know they take them all at one time, and then want it back for more. Also it had about 1 megapixal so you would not even want to get it devoloped if she did take a good pic. What I am going to do is give her my old camera. We just got a 6 mega pixal for Christmas from my parents. I see them all the time in the paper for $150-$200. So my 3.0 I am handing down since I will have no use for for it. Good luck!

If you can swing it, go for the Fisher Price camera! We bought it for my son for his birthday and he absolutely adores it! It also has the coolest software included as where you can make little mini-movies set to music. It was worth every penny. We didn't bother to get the memory card because the camera holds 60 pics and once on the PC you'll have them. He is 5 and having a ball with it. He even takes it places with him to get more pics. I bought mine from E-bay for 79 and that included a case. You should check it out on there because I ultimely got the case for free.

Just wanted to add that the pictures are crystal clear-really good quality.

We got one for my son at walmart I think that it before tax it wa 19 and change for christmas. I would tell you what kind but it just says digital on the front. It is pretty lame looking but we also bought for a 4 year old and it is not in pieces so...
changing the settings on it can be a pain but you can change them so that the camera will take up to 50 pictures before you have to go weed them out, but I would weed them out before the camera is full because you will find that most of them NEED to be weeded out.

For the money the Fisher Price one is EXCELLENT!! Its big and chunky for little hands, and durable. Of course, the quality of the pictures for the most part isn't going to be "printable", but thats not only because of the megapixels. It will last her till she graduates to a "big person" camera.
I happen to have an 11 yr old with a passion for pictures and wish I could have started him with an inexpensive type like the Fisher Price.
I have a friend who got this camera for her son for Christmas and he loves it! Try Ebay...its where she found her son's and it came with a case.
Good Luck!

My daughter loves her FP camera. What she loves is the ability to look at her pictures. She is 3 and can easily use it, erase pictures she likes and review all her pictures. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to use a screw driver to get the card out to load on the computer. Other than that it is fabulous and worth every penny.

I don't know about the disney but do be sure to get the LCD. I have a 4 year old daughter and she is always trying to play with my camera. We decided to get her one this past Christmas and I thought it had the LCD on there but it didn't and she could care less about that camera since she can't see the little screen.
Hope this helps

I had planned to get the FP camera for my son's 5th birthday, but didn't after several (5+) moms on another board complained about the picture quality. They said it was very fuzzy, flash was poor, just not good for the money.
He's been using my old digital and is doing pretty well with it. I would recommend something with pretty basic settings, he has managed to get the settings on my out of whack a couple of times and gets frustrated with it.
