Kid Safe Websites
I am looking for some safe websites for my 3yr old to play online games at. We recently introduced her to Disney, PBS, Nick...online games. She likes dress up and puzzles and coloring, matching/memory. She is begging for more dress up games for little girls. Shes done max and ruby and dora. Any other suggestions?

So What Happened?™
Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. I havent checked any of them out yet, but I will preview them all soon. As someone mentioned, we do have educational games on cds, tons of them that my now 11yr old used to use. And I would love to use them now, but for some reason our computer really acts up when we put one in and download the game. Its a fairly new computer bought especially for its better capability to handle such things, but unfortunately isnt doing the job intended.
I cant wait to check out some of these sites and thanks again. My daughter will be so excited to have a new game.

Hi,
My daughter loves the websites mentioned. She also likes
http://www.everythinggirl.com/home/home.aspx
it basically has ALL the girly websites on there.
Also, webkinz.com is a really good one, you would have to buy a webkinz from hallmark and activate the code, but it keeps them busy for "computer time". http://www.bellasara.com/index_bs.aspx is another one with horses! You just register and she could play right away without purchasing anything. You can also buy more Bella Sara cards at Walmart and add more horses later on. Other sites: http://home.disney.go.com/tv/, http://www.girlsense.com/premium/index.pl?utm_source=KOL&... (Online dress up games - this one you will have to click into one of the dress up games for her to play).

I know Apples4theteacher.com has some stuff, but offhand I can't remember specific examples.

One of my kids favorites is www.cyke.com Once you are there on the right side bar it says explore the land of cyke (something along those lines) If you click on that it takes you to a land they can click on. They have a really cute snowman you can dress up, type in a message for someone and print it out.

I am afraid I can NOT endorse your interest (supported by a few people who have already responded) to INCREASE your daughter's time with passive computer play. Especially games. They become extremely addictive--more often among boys but research indicates the obsession is catching up to girls. Children eschew social play and interaction, become used to a constancy of rapid action and reinforced activity. Once school age, this sort of gaming competes with homework time, other social interests and sometimes team and sport activity. Your child is very young; you do not need to develop her keyboarding skills, but instead need to involve her in socially appropriate group play with peers. Even just some regular play dates. You say you are a sahm, so I presume that while busy with a 2 and 3 yr old your schedule is your own, and these two toddlers could also share planned activities: heavy crafting, library outings and book reading/story telling, outside play in parks, help baking or decorating holiday cookies, art projects, legos, puzzles, indoor playhouse, etc etc. I am sure you will get other suggestions as well. On-line gaming is a very addictive activity to begin so young. Good luck.

There is a dress up website for Barbie but kind of too old for a 3 year old. Have you tried The Wiggles website? My daughter loved that site.
