Kid Gym for 5+ Yr Olds near Fullerton
Hi! My soon to be 5 yr old is too big for Gymboree at this point. He still needs the same type of play atmosphere, but for older kids. He's HUGE next to the little ones crawling around during the play time. Anyone go to a structured indoor play place similar to Gymboree, but for bigger kids? Thanks in advance!

You may want to try Eric Will Gymnastics in La Habra (341 W. Imperial Hwy., La Habra, CA 90631)or Kips Gymnastics in Anaheim Hills (4622 E. La Palma, Anaheim, Ca 92807). The YMCA in Fullerton (2000 Youth Way, Fullerton, 92835)was recently remodeled and they have some great programs too; they have signs up indicating that a gymnastics program is coming soon. Some of the indoor inflateable places like Pump It Up, Scooter Jungle, etc. also offer indoor play time.

You should try My Gym, The Little Gym, or a gymnastics place such as SCATS. My son is 4 1/2 and he LOVES his My Gym classes (it is a mixed class from 4-6). They also have classes for older kids. My daughter (7y/o) would love to join a class, but she already has way too much on her plate. I love their philosophy and it is very age appropriate. Besides activities, they also incorporate taking turns, sharing, story time and imagination. The My Gym in Anaheim Hills is nice and clean. We had our son's birthday party there and the staff is very professional and excellent with the kids. We go to the Chino Hills My Gym (and they are just as great)- new facility, awesome staff.
My kids were formerly enrolled in SCATS gymnastics, but my husband and I didn't agree with their philosophy. There seemed to be too much of a push or focus on competition gymnastics. I hear the Little Gym is also a good place. You should also look into city sponsored activities or your local YMCA. They usually have good programs. Hope this advice helps.

Try "Little Gym". My son loved it. Go to Littlegym.com for locations.

Hi B.,
I understand that "My Gym" has classes for older kids. Unfortunately, the closest one to Fullerton is in Anaheim Hills, I think. I've heard good things about My Gym from a girlfriend, but the only classes for my little guy at this point (he's only 8 months) won't work for us right now. I was just at Gymboree for the first time last week and haven't fully decided if I'm going to join. I'd love to hear your experience if you'd care to drop me a note.
