My son said to me this weekend: "Mom, you might not be the strictest mom out there (ya think?), but I'd have to say you're right up there with the funnest ones."

Awwwwww......

I think that's a compliment, right? lol
Get any kid compliments lately?

What can I do next?

My 4 yr old likes to play a little game. She compliments me with something she knows isn't true, but I relly like to hear it.. "mommy, you're so skinny." Then she wants me to compliment her with something she knows isnt true but she likes to hear it. "baby, you're so nice." lol I'm actually size 16 and she actually gives Oscar the Grouch a run for his money.

Both my kids compliment my pretty, shiny, yellow hair. They're black and have course black hair, so that compliment actually makes me a little sad for my daughter. She asks me to cut my hair off and put it on her head. I tell her I love her pretty curls and she says - "you like rough hair mommy? Nobody likes rough hair. I like shiny soft hair like yours." Oh, My pretty little baby.

Totally depends on how old that kid is! lol!
But in my book... being funny is a compliement anytime.
Even looking for a spouse... it had to be someone who could make me laugh! Soooo... considering how many moms there are out there with sucky sense of humors! I vote this is a compliment!
GOOD JOB MOM!

Definitely a compliment. :) Whenever I hear stories like those I think, is his/her birthday coming soon. Ha ha....

By my 3 year old...."Mom, I don't like you when you're mad, but I REALLY like you when you're happy" (After getting in trouble)

I was telling this story to my dad and he said did you say, "Then don't make me mad"

LOL, I said something in that terms.

my son tlold me this weekend that i was the most beautiful girl in the world (he's 5) and said that he loves me the best out of everyone.i made him a spongebob cake for his b-day this weekend and he told me that it was the most beautiful cake he had ever seen. my son is the complimenter. my daughter takes them away :). "mommy, why is your belly like jelly" (after i had my son). my husband will ask her "i'm not fat am i baby?" (he's not really) and she just looks at him and smiles. won't say a word. then she looks at his belly. which has gotten bigger in the last 2 years.

After sharing grace at a meal with our 5.5yr grandson, he smiled up at me and grandpoppie and said, "I think grace is the best part of eating for you!"

We smiled back and asked why he thought that.

"Because you're graceful people!"

Not sure precisely what he means by that, because we just smiled and thanked him and didn't ask any more questions. But it sure felt nice!

My daughter made a cookbook (their fav. recipe that Mom makes with them) in her Pre-K class this year. They asked each kid for a quote about their Mom. My daughter said "I love my Mommy cuz she plays with me all the time."

That sure helped my ego a lot because I always feel like I am telling her "Not right now baby, Mommy's cleaning" or "Maybe after I finish cooking dinner." or something like that.

And, last summer I was mulching the flower beds and it was HOT and I was sweating a LOT! She looked at my face very intently and said "Mommy, you're pretty when your face is shiny!"

Yup "Your legs are beautiful like Popeye's" and "Congratulations your boobs are shrinking."

I got a new O. yesterday while working on a painting of my son. my daughter said, "Ooh mom, that looks really neat, is he in space?" Guess my blue background choice is up for interpretation by the 5 year old set.

My 5 year olds most complimenting phrase is whenever she makes SURE she doesn't HAVE to move out when she's an adult because she wants to stay with me forever. (sniffle)
