Hi Mammas,

I recently moved to Katy and am in need of a Pediatrician. I have heard good things about Lentsch and Kisch. Does anybody have feedback on either of these doctors that they would share?

Thanks in advance!

I have been taking my kids to Dr. Lentsch for several years now. We are very pleased with the service there. She is very efficient and if you can't get an appointment to see her right away, you can usually get in to see the nurse practitioner, who is very good, also. I haven't met any of the new doctors there, yet. One word of caution, if you are looking for a doctor who will sit and chat with you and ask you lots of questions and want to know every concern you might have about your child, this is not your doctor. Since my kids are older and my son already goes to another pediatric specialist on a regular basis, I'm perfectly happy with the "short and sweet" approach. My husband and I are both pretty laid back, anyway, and we are blessed with 2 healthy children. So, I wouldn't recommend her for first-time parents who tend to be on the overly-concerned side. Good luck!

I use Grand Meadows Peds for my son... we have for the past 3 1/2 years. They are always awesome! never a long wait and always fit us in when needed. Dr. Gordon is great and the assistant is VERY good with kids.

We did not like Dr. Lentsch. First, we felt like our child was just a client, not a patient. After a year of her telling us the cause of our 13 mo. old daughter's violent cough at night (which left my husband and I without sleep almost every night) was caused by allergies, we went to Dr. Kisch. Problem solved after 1st visit! Dr. Kisch is AMAZING!!!! She explains everything in detail and is available (herself, not just the facility) on the weekends if you need her. We moved 15 mi. further West and while it takes 35 minutes to get to her, we refuse to change pediatricians after finding her. I wish there were more like her.

I am also new to Katy. We moved from Sugar Land and I wanted to find a pediatrician in Katy. A friend recommended Cinco Ranch Pediatrics. I used to see the nurse practitioner more often than the Dr. Lentsch but recently they have hired 3 additional doctors. One of whom is Dr. Young (very nice lady) I still have not met Dr. Kisch or the other Dr. The office staff is great and I have never had to wait in the waiting room more than 5 minutes. There have been a few times that I had to schedule a last minute appointment and they have always accomodated me.

We recently switched to Cinco Ranch Pediatrics. We just moved here a year ago and really liked our first pediatrician, but she recently cut her schedule back to 2 days/week. The rest of the time she has a nurse practitioner, but I didn't feel comfortable seeing a NP on a regular basis unless there is a doctor in the office as well. We've only been to Cinco Ranch once, and we saw Dr. Young. She was very nice and we were in and out very quickly (it was a well-check for my 2 youngest). How they work their practice is, they don't really assign you a specific doctor, as their main goal is to ALWAYS see sick children on the day the call comes in. So, I think altogether they now have 5 doctors and a NP, so you basically see whomever is available. I'm sure if you are scheduling a well visit, you can have your choice of doctor; however, if you want to see Dr. Lentsch, you may have to wait a few weeks as she stays pretty booked up. The only complaint I had is that when I made the appointment they told me to bring the whole family and everyone (including me) could get flu shots...so I took my oldest out of school early, but when we got there, they told us they had run out of vaccine for older kids (your 14 month old should be fine, they still have vaccine for kids under 3). So none of us got our flu shots. It would've been nice if they would've called to let me know so I wouldn't have taken my oldest out of school. Other than that our experience there so far has been very positive. Good luck and welcome to Katy!

I love Dr. Lentsch. She is wonderful. She will tell you how it is without sugar coating anything. It is easy to get an appointment the same day. Her nurse practicioner, Helen, is wonderful. My oldest son loves getting to see Ms. Helen.
Dr. Lentsch recently hired 2 new doctors. I've only seen one of them, Dr. Young. She is wonderful. Last week, my 7 week old went in to see her for a very high fever. She immediately sent me to Texas Children's and made sure that when I arrived at the hospital that we would be taken care of immediately. We were! (My baby is doing fine, thank goodness!) I loved the way that she handled the situation. She is very caring and explains everything very well.
