Mamas & Papas-

For those of you who juice, do any of you have a juicer which has a barrel and not cone shaped spinner, and no chute to spit out the pulp? My parents have an ancient braun with this design that they need to replace because the motor is burning. They are not pleased with our breville, which we leant them for a trial run because it leaves a lot of juice in the pulp. In fairness, the pulp on their old braun really does come out bone dry. They are willing to pay up to $300 if necessary, and might be coaxed into the ones that you see for wheat grass, but only if they will produce a super dry pulp

Thanks,
F. B.

I bought an Omega Nutrition Center Heavy Duty Masticating Juice Extractor (model 855HD) from Costco for just under $300 about 3 years ago. The pulp comes out bone dry. Very efficient juicer and easy to clean.

We fix these as part of our business (we repair all kinds of stuff in restaurants, from juicers to drywall and everything in between). If you juice all the time and want it to last forever, you can't beat the Nutrifaster N450. It's built like a tank, and the pulp comes out dry. For personal use, it is very large, though, and in the price range they're looking at, it would have to be used (but they can be found used).

Would they consider a Vitamix blender? It makes excellent juice and can handle the heartiest of vegetables and fruits. You can strain the juice through an inexpensive nut milk bag available on Amazon, and squeeze the juice as dry as you like it. That's the only way I know to do it, so I'm sorry I can't offer any personal advice on juicers.
