Jogging Stroller Advice
i am the mother of a 2 month old and have been walking in my neighborhood for the past few weeks. i am hoping to increase to jogging in the near future, but find my standard stroller (a graco, part of a 'travel system') unwieldy for such things. i walk/jog in my neighborhood on smooth roads w/ occasional gravel. is a jogging stroller a good investment or a gimic?

Jogging strollers are great for walking, jogging and going over rough terrain. Get one with a front wheel that turns though (Ive had both the turning wheel is so much easier to manuver) You can price them on line and check out what others have written about the strollers.
Good luck!

I was wanting to get a jogging stroller...but instead got a bike trailer...they can hold up to 2 kids up to 100 lbs...
They don't tip over, even if the bike falls over.
We got ours at Walmart...they have different varieties, and are generally a lot cheaper than getting a whole new stroller. Here's the one we got: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4347465
Good luck!

Hi A., I just moved from Austin to Houston, auggh. Anyway, jogging with ur baby right now is too young especailly with the change in the weather. I asked my dr about this, I got a jogging stroller as a baby shower gift and really wanted to impliment asap. I was told not to jog with a baby at least until 6 months and then wait until he can seat upright alone before putting him in a jogger.in the meantime those gracos are fine for fast walking if u have one that flips the sitting position to facing you that way less air is being forced down into their tiny lungs and they can exhale u mite be able to pull of a slow joggin pace. Good luck

I am a stay at home mom as well and I have a 6 month old son. I enjoy taking him around our neighborhood and I had the same problem as you. We purchased a jogging stroller and I really like it and so does my son. Its way easier to push while running and jogging and its a smoother ride over bumps and things.

I didn't even read your other responses so forgive me if this is a repeat.
I have never used a jogging stroller but seen them pretty cheap on craigslist.com. I will buy something I want to try cheap on there and if I use it and want a better one, I will just resell the other one. Even if it isn't in perfect condition, but cheap enough, it gives me a chance to try it out. When I do resell, I very very very rarely get less than what I paid sometimes even more.
Just a thought...

I order my Instep double jogging Stroller and a bike trailer on ebay when my children were around 2 yo and the other one was months. They are now 6 and 4 yo and I have a 6 mth old baby now. I use it very much. Carnivals, parks, Las Vegas, mountain hikes. the beach, everywhere. It great for roller blading too.

I've definitely seen moms trolling their toddlers around the neighborhood in the jogging strollers. I think that it's a good investment as long as it's being put to use.
