Hi all!

Anyone have any thoughts on jogging strollers? We are looking for one, but don't want to spend a fortune. InStep has been recommended to us. Has anyone used this brand or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks

What can I do next?

I got an instep single stroller and have used it to go everywhere hiking- even the very bumpy trails at red rocks. It also traveled well on my airplane trip- they took it at the gate. We now have a second child and I bought a schwinn double...a bit fancier with the swivel wheel.

It depends how much jogging you'll actually be doing. I am an avid runner and have the "Baby Jogger--Q series" brand. It has been really good for me (my son is now 21 months). In the beginning I bought the car seat adapter which was great. I also bought the rain/wind canopy that blocks him from the elements and has been great as well. Some people really like a front wheel that swivels for use when not jogging and then can be locked while jogging. The "Bob" brand is also a really good brand but pricey too. Good luck!

I found joggingstroller.com to be a fabulous resource. It explains all the things to consider, and allows you to select which options are most important to you and then gives you the brands and styles best suited to your needs.

I LOVE my BOB Revolution stroller. You can get it at REI or online. If from REI, they will be selling last year's models for 10-20% off right now. Also, if have membership, get 10% back at end of year if buy it at full price.

Have fun!

I've been strolling kiddos in joggers for 9 years now and I can say that if ever there is a single baby item that is worth a splurge, it's a stroller. We LOVE our BOB for its maneuverability and sturdiness. The front wheel turns or can lock into place for jogging. Definitely keep in mind the total weight that your stroller can hold; those kids grow and still love to be strolled. Check Craigslist.com regularly; there are usually great joggers for great prices.

Although I am sure jogging strollers have changed drastically since I used one my advice is to just go out and try them. Staying in your budget and getting one that is the right size and comfort for you is something that can only happen by hands on looking. Especially if like me you are over 5'6". (I am 6'1")
There are now so many brands that you can choose from. You might want to check online at LL Bean or an outfitter like REI. They often have more of a quality product for a reasonable price.

Hi , I've had a lot of experience with Baby Joggers...it kind of depends on how may miles you want to put in...but I stand by spending the money...they are durable and you can use it on and off road...

I have a Baby Jogger and love it - it's a little pricey but really easy to use, fold up, and maneuver - it's the only stroller I have for my 6 month old.

Hands down the BOB Revolution is the best and you will not regret spending the extra $. This is actually the only stroller we ever bought and bought the infant seat attachment. He has been using the BOB since he was a 1 week old. We also did half marathon training in it and it worked perfect!

Just happened to catch a bit of Martha Stewart show this morning (Jan 3). The audience was full of Moms with babies. One of the many products shown was a three-wheeled jogging stroller. Didn't hear what brand, but they did say there was information on all the products on the website. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Before you buy new - check Craig's List and consignment shops. I know the Children's Orchard on Green Valley Parkway always has a ton of strollers.

I have to agree that the BOB Revolution is the best way to go. I am a runner too and have been running with my daughter who is now 14 months old since she was 2 months old. REI seems to have them on sale fairly frequently. So look online. I would also check Craig's list for used BOB strollers.

Good luck

I loved my InStep and so did my friends when they tried it. I just wish we had planned ahead an got hte double one so I didn't have to sell it when the next one came along. The girl who bought it from me is still loving it. My only complaint was sometimes I couldn't tell if the front wheel was on straight or not, and if it wasn't, it would pull to one side or the other. This may apply to all strollers with the same set up on the front. I did eventually learn how to make sure it was on straight. The stoller virtually propelled itself. We even took it on a dirt path by the river several times. You might see if there are any models that are easier to turn. I think that is universal to jogging strollers, though. Have fun.

A big factor to consider is whether you want the front wheel to pivot. Pivoting wheels are easier to turn in a small radius. If you have a fixed front wheel, you have to pick up the front wheel in order to make a tight turn. The fixed front wheels are great for running, but they do not transition to inside or crowded spaces very well (malls, stores, festivals, etc.).

I have a Baby Jogger Q series double jogger. It was pricey, but I love it. Both my husband (6'4") and I (5'8") can push it comfortably. It holds up to 100 pounds. It folds up easily to fit in the back of the car. It does have a fixed front wheel, so I have a different stroller for non-running activities. I agree with the mom who mentioned that joggingstroller.com is a good place to research and buy a new stroller.

I have used the jeep brand and love it because it has shocks and isn't too big. I went to www.craigslist.org and found one used for a great price the lady had only used it a couple times. This saved me quite a bit. Also you can go on consumer reports.org and they will tell you the goods and bads of strollers out there.

I have a double schwinn jogger and I love it!!! My children are 2 and 4 and they can both still be in it. The weight can be up to 100pounds. If you are thinking about having another child I would go with this one. You can order it online for a cheaper price, just do a search. Also make sure it has the turn technology so you dont have to lift the front when turning. I cant say enough good things about this stroller. Sometimes I just have my 2 year old in it while my 4 year old walks with me. There is also enough room for groceries underneath in the storage part. Good luck!!!!

I love the In Step!
We got it for $99 at Target. It has lasted over 5 years. The only bad thing is that the front wheel doesn't pivot. But other than that, the stroller has been great!
