JFF - What Is Your Wrapping Style?
I LOVE wrapping gifts - love it. I hoard wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and tags at the end of each season to prep for the next. Each year I have a theme or I select a certain paper for each person - this year I am hodge podge of all the left over paper I have amassed. . . so I ask - what is YOUR wrapping style? Matchy -matchy? Glittery? traditional? Cartoons? snowflakes? Other?
So What Happened?™
So fun to hear about everyones wrapping (or not) style - LOL!

this is the first year I got any cartoon typed paper, and we got Mickey Mouse because my almost 3 year old just LOVES mickey mouse. I also love all the paper, tags, bowa, ribbon etc. I think I have about 10 rolls downstairs. I like to buy after Christmas to get a really good deal. I usually get snowman paper or the pretty glittery stuff.

I have a special paper for each kid, this way they know that everything under the tree with a certain paper is theirs. This year i also incorporated that into other peoples presents. I have 2 rolls for my daughters friends and other kids, 2 rolls for my adult friends and a roll for family. My husband got a particular paper.
Other than that i use those cute stick on labels and i only add ribbon and bow to the very special presents.
Oh and santa has a special wrapping paper he uses too, they have never seen this paper.

USUALLY, my presents look like they were professionally done. Of course, I buy plain, boring wrapping paper, but SANTA, man, he goes all out! Bows, ribbons, you name it, they're gorgeous [pats self on back] ;)
This year, I've had VERY limited time to wrap everything, so it kind of looks like I paid a bunch of 4 year olds to do it, LOL!!!

I LOVE wrapping gifts unless it's an odd-shaped one that won't look nice when wrapped with paper. He goes into a gift bag saved from years past. I don't think I've ever purchased a gift bag in my life--never needed to!
I feel like a slacker this year because I didn't do bows. Our new tree sits so low to the ground that they would just get smooshed, so I left them off. Boo!!

For the kids I use "cute" paper with lots of bows. For the adults I use "pretty" paper with curling ribbon. I love to wrap too. This year my 7 y/o has decided he wants to help. I am having a hard relinquishing my duties :)
Santa always wraps in Santa paper and Santa tags ~ the only gifts under the tree that have santa anything on them.
I too stock up on paper, ribbons, tags and bows at the after Christmas sales!

I am a freak about it too. I only do (what to me is ) beautiful paper. No cartoon paper since mine were babies/toddlers, and even then it needed to be pretty. And yes, such things did exist. :)
I tend to stay away from ready made bows and use lots of ribbon. The kind with wires so I can make it STAY pretty.
And all the paper is pretty, and usually something more simple. Rare is the paper that is just one solid color and that is it. Usually it is color on color (red foil with red writing or red crimped shapes). LOVE wrapping pretty gifts. :)
I thought I would love working the volunteer fund raiser wrapping paper booth for my kids' school a couple of years ago.... but I wasn't happy with some of the paper choices and it was a bit of a "downer" for me. It was all stuff I didn't find pretty. :(
I love pale blues with silver accents, and big fluffy pale blue bows; or bright green and white stripes (glossy paper or foil paper) with big white ribbon or ribbon/bows. I too hoard paper. I have donated I don't know how many yards of it over the years b/c I just can't throw it away and run out of space for it all. One year I wrapped every single present under our tree (for extended family and friends included... so a LOT of presents--we're talking probably over 60 gifts total) in a completely different paper. No two presents were in the same paper.

I WISH I had actual wrapping style. You would think that, being an artist, my gifts would be wrapped more creatively than they are. Usually I just let my kids wrap any gifts I buy because they LOVE it. That means that all the gifts are wrapped in slightly crumbled Winnie the Pooh or Disney Princess wrapping paper, with tape all over the place, multiple gift tags, lots of string in different colors taped on, lots of bows pasted all over, and the name of the person it is to is usually misspelled :) Oh well, it is the thought that counts, right?!

I love wrapping and am known for being over the top.. so are my inlaws.. We all place a box in the center of the room to collect and reuse the bows, the boxes and the bags.
Many times, I like to attach some sort of ornament, sweet or something to the bow as part of the gift.
Did you know you can iron the tissue paper and hang it on a pant hanger for storage and it will look brand new?!
I know, I am a freak about this stuff.. I love beautiful packages.
