JFF Have You Had a DUH Moment?

Well, I have been preparing for the arrival of my new bundle of joy. My mom reminded me to boil the bottles. I am using the Playtex Nursing Drop in Bottles. Well I started the water, took the bottles apart, and dumped all of the bottles in the pot of boiling water. Within seconds the bottles MELTED! I tried to get them out of the water quickly but it was too late! I had a feeling not to boil the actual bottle & to just wash them in really hot water and just boil the nipples and rings. I went against my better judgment and ruined all of my bottles! Next time I will go with my gut instinct. Have you ever had a moment like this??

What can I do next?

I made coffee one morning, and I forgot to stick the coffee pot back in the coffee maker before I hit start and walked away. When I came back to pour my coffee, there was coffee all over the counter and the floor...

Always happens to me every day! I say something or ask a question to my friends sometimes and answer it myself before they even do! Hehe! We all have our duher moments!!!! :) Even men do too!

If it makes you feel any better, the other month; I was carrying two trash bags out to the dumpster (the big dumpsters at the apartment where I live) and I had my cell phone in one hand as well and what do you know...I dump all the bags in the dumpster along with my cell phone!!!! The phone went to the very bottom of the dumpster! The dumpster was so tall and deep I couldn't get it! I don't have a house phone either! So I asked for help. The ladies I asked for help couldn't get it. I then asked the leasing office manager and she went to go get a broom. I had also left food on the stove, I was just starting to cook bacon and it takes forever, I thought 2 minutes to throw away the trash wasn't going to hurt. So I had to run back in the house and take it off the stove (still uncooked!). I saw a guy and asked him to help me get my phone out of the dumpster! Long story short; he was able to get the phone out. I don't know how, but he did it! All of this happened; with myself still being in my snowman PJs! Hehe! Very embarrassing and a duher moment!!!!!

I had to run out to my car to get something. I was at work and it was raining pretty hard. I went to go unlock my door but it wouldn't open I looked up and there and older woman was sitting in HER car petrified wondering what the HECK I was doing trying to get into her car! LOL! I was so embarassed. I realized I had parked on the other side of the parking lot. I mouthed "Sorry". I am sure she took a deep breath and said a prayer.
The other thing I seem to do is when I am in cleaning mode at home I usually try to put some cleaner away in the fridge rather then the cabinet where it belongs ;) Don't feel too bad it happens to all of us Mommas at some point. Congratulations on your soon to be addition!

Yep! I always get mad at myself for leaving my contact case on my nightstand where my 16 month old daughter has full access to it and LOVES to play with, so I had decided to start leaving it on the bathroom counter. Much less convenient (as I am almost too blind to make it to bed & can never seem to remember my glasses), but much better than replacing contacts every time she gets it! So of course I forget and fill up the case with my solution, and left it on my nightstand. Then I notice that she has it opened and I immediately grab it from her and start frantically searching for my contacts..felt on her shirt, arms, carpet...could NOT find them! Ugh! I was so mad! I had just put in new contacts that morning! ....And then...I realized...they were still in my eyes. Yep. DERRRRR!!! Lol =D

One time I made a pot of coffee first thing in the morning and forgot to actually put the coffee in it. So I brewed a pot of hot water. My husband was the first one to discover it, started laughing, and asked me, "Hey Honey, what kind of coffee is this?" LOL - my excuse was I had not had my coffee yet!
