JFF Does Anyone Else Think Newborns Aren't Cute?

Whenever I see a newborn baby I don't think they are very cute. Thank goodness I'm not a nurse in a newborn nursery b/c to me they all look alike. I'd probably get them all mixed up!!! To me they all look alike all scrunched up and red. It's not until the baby is about 3 months or so and they start to get their own look that I really think that a baby is cute. When their personalities start to shine through and they start to smile and things. Of course when my son was born I thought he was perfect, but that's a mothers love! :-) Just curious what other mommies think... don't tear me apart here. Unfortunately society does associate a woman who is not cooing over every baby she sees as less of a woman or less of a mother.

Has anyone seen an adorable newborn? Does anyone else agree that they all kinda seem the same until they get a bit older? JFF :-)

What can I do next?

my son looked like a prize fighter when he was born. all black and blue and swollen. But still, the prettiest thing I've ever seen.

Some are, some arent, but even the most homely looking ones are adorable to me!

How can you resist something so innocent and sweet? Something so tiny and sweet smelling? I love newborns!

When my kids were born, I thought they were beautiful. But when I look back at the first pictures of those same moments, they look awful: red, puffy, and crying. But gee, at the time they seemed impossibly cute. I was definitely cooing over the little buglets.

lol it's funny how everyone thinks THEIR newborn was so beautiful. (haha) at the time when my daughter was born of course i thought she was cute!~ But, like someone else said, looking back at photos, umm no she was not cute until a few months later. LOL she's 9 now. i totally agree with you.

Well, MY newborns were GORGEOUS, of course! Everyone else's? Not so much! And that's the way it ought to be, right?

I used to think all newborns were cute... until I saw my friend's baby picture. She and her mother kept saying she was an ugly baby and I was up hauled by them... until they showed me her picture. OMG I now know that there are ugly babies out there, lol. There definitely are cuter newborns than others, even among my own children, lol.

Personally, I think the scrunched up red face IS cute! Of course, both of my babies were adorable when they were born, heehee :) To each his own, I guess.

Not sure if it's about them being cute as much as it is about them being so tiny and new. It's a new life, that's exciting and enough to get me weak in the knees for them.
