I am interested in having my wedding ring redesigned sometime and wanted to know if anyone had a reputable jewelry maker/artist to recommend.

What can I do next?

I second Jared. Their work is high quality and their prices are reasonable. I really like the location in Plano by Collin Creek Mall. Plus, they offer a lifetime guarantee. My engagement/wedding rings, and a diamond necklace have all come from there, as well as my hubbys wedding ring. I have a birthstone that I want to get re-set this year (my grandmother bought for me when I was younger) and the sales person I talked with at Jared had some great ideas for settings. Hopefully will get that done in April sometime!

Jared's does a beautiful job of designing jewelry! My husband and I went there to look for a custome wedding ring, and when we (finally) get the $$ together, that's what he's getting me. (They're not overly expensive ~ we just had some major medical issues come up right before and after we were married.)

My sister and I also have a friend who does a beautiful job, but he lives in Midland, so I doubt you want to go that far...LOL :)

(I'm actually going to have to "eenie meenie miney moe" who we end up going to for my wedding ring.) :)

Good for you mom, be creative. How do you want your wedding ring designed? I think you would be most happy if you had the most input into your design. No one could tell the story better than you.

I teach jewelry and metalsmithing and I design jewelry. I'd be happy to talk to you about your options.

I am all about Jared's too. I love that place! If you go to the one by Northpark ask for Mark! And tell him I sent you :) He is the store manager there.. I love Jared's because I have NEVER felt like they pressured me into buying anything.. you give them an idea of what you want to spend and they dont push you to your limits.. Their work is priceless.. and the insurance policy's are very easy to work with.. no small print :) !

We used Bailey Banks and Biddle at Valley View about 17 yrs ago. Never had a problem and they were very good. We already had my diamond, we just needed it set. Mine is a very simple 4 prong setting with the solitaire. It needs nothing else as far as accect stones, it is rather large. My diamond is very old and has a "miner's" cut and not cut like most of the stones are cut today. The way the jeweler set it really makes it stand out.

Make sure you get a new appraisel and insurance!!
