Jeans with Holes

My daughter who is now 21 had the cutest patches stitched onto her jeans by a friend. She bought some fabric with bright colors, kind of a retro look. She cut out flower shapes from the fabric and used them as patches. It gave her jeans the cutest look, and i think they are now my favorites.

Another idea might be is once you put the patches on the jeans, place a few others around like onthe thigh, along the side and give her a new look to wear!

I know what you mean, you find the perfect pair for your little one and they wear them out before they don't fit. I have used colorful patches that just iron on, but frayed the edges first, gives it a cute look. You can buy some of your favorite material and make your own with the fusible webing stuff. I have also used ribbon and those...metal holes(sorry for some reason the name escapes me) this works really well and looks cute if the hole is more vertical. Just a couple of the things I have done. Good Morning K., Have you looked at a craft store for little iron on patchs? They have some really cute ones for little Princess! I do this for our 9 yr old grand daughter. When I iron them on, I do hand stitch around the edges to make them more secure when washing.

It's easy to do. I didn't sew or anything like that very well until my boys started school, then it was very basic stuff. 6 Yrs ago, I think, I took up quilting and Love it.

Joanne's has adorable iron on fabric printed patches. I bought three packages and cut them into shapes and ironed them on a pair of old jeans and everyone complements my daughter on her cute jeans!

check JoAnn's for some cute iron on patches. That should cover the holes nicely and add a sparkle to her jeans.

Hi! You can get cute iron patches at Walmart (i believe) and Hobby Lobby stores. It makes for a quick and cute fix. You can probably find cute little butterflies or other characters your child likes! Plus they will look like new jeans once you are done! Good luck!

If you have any cute material you can sew them on the inside or have someone do it for you. It gives the jeans a whole new look. Or buy some cute iron on paterned patches and iron them on.

Why do you want to cover the holes in the knees?? You do know that's all the rave now, and people pay big money for jeans with holes already in them! hahahaha Of course I can see why you'd want to cover up the backside though!

Hi K., Well, I would buy some fun fabric and patch from the inside so you can still see the hole. That is fashion right now anyway. I have never had luck with the iron on patches. You dont have to be great at sewing.

Why not try buying ready made patches . . . they come on both sew-on and iron-on, and all designs, including great kids' designs.

You could patch them with regular jean material and then get a bejeweled kit and let the girls make their own design??? on the patches.

holes in the knees seem to be common since they are being made so thin and cheaply now. My niece will get holes in her brand new jeans within a month so she just wears them to school like that because they aren't going to buy her new jeans every 2-3 weeks. As for wearing out on the back side well can't help much there. I tried to repair some that did that and they just ripped back out so those aren't an easy fix. you can get patches and put in the knees if the holes in the knees really bother you. You can buy the iron on kind but they won't stay on through very many washes so you will probably want to sew them on so they stay.

The easiest way is to go to Wal-Mart and get iron on patches. They aren't always pretty, but they work. I turn the jeans inside out and put them on the inside. They have denim ones and colors. You can also get little flowers and things like that for the outside.

well patches always work for covering up holes.

Check out Hobby Lobby or any fabric store for heart/star/etc shaped iron on patches.

You can go to any craft store and they have some really cute patches now. They have one's with designs and glitter and then you can iron it on and if she wanted you can also sew around the patch. My daughter loves that.

Patches work but I have also used the embroidered applique patches they have at Walmart...they have a lot of different designs...princess, dogs, cats, flowers, cars, trucks...you name it. My son got a hole in his jeans and I added 2 patches to give it a theme...one had a dog and the other a dog house...take her along and let her pick...that makes it all the more fun.

I know when I was younger my Mom would get some white fabric and then black lace to put under them or black fabric and some other color lace on top and let it show thru the hole. I thought it looked pretty good. Good luck. I just had my Mom fix some holes in my boys jeans and when you brought this up it made me want a little girl lol.
