IVF Pharmacies

Hello, since my husband is currently being treated for cancer we can't conceive naturally. We have decided not to let cancer dictate our lives or schedules so we are going through with IVF with Dr. Doody. My question is if anyone can recommend a good pharmacy for the drugs. We don't have insurance coverage for the medications or procedure so we are spending our savings on it. I need the cheapest pharmacy but it MUST be reputable. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I had IVF in 2002 and worked with Dr. Sy Q. Le and they helped me get my medication from Freedom Pharmacy. They were great, they shipped everything Fed Ex, packed in ice and the price, which came out of my pocket also, was better than anywhere else.
Good luck!

I agree with the target in Irving off 635 and MacArthur. Since there is a fertility clinic right next to there, they are very familiar with all the fertility stuff. And very kind.

There may be an pharmacy close to your Dr. office that would work the same way.

L., I wish you the best of luck in your IVF journey. My DH and I worked with Dr. Kathy in 2007 and now have a beautiful daughter as a result of a successful IUI!

That being said, the nurse I had worked with recommended Freedom Pharmacy (http://www.freedomdrug.com/). They were really great with delivery scheduled, packed things on ice as needed, and their customer service was incredibly friendly.

We did have insurance that paid for my injectibles so the out of pocket costs for the meds were very affordable, however it wouldn't hurt for you to give them a call to see if their prices are competitive.

Good luck to you!

Sorry to hear about your husband. You should ask Dr. Doody if there is a particular pharmacy they use - typically they will get a discount. If not, Target in Irving (@635 & MacArthur) carries IVF medications & usually at a discount. They are very kind, too. (The Target in Grapevine was a challenge, because they don't service a lot of clients TTC, so they aren't as familiar with the medications.)

Good luck TTC.

Have you thought about Walmart? I think you can get prescriptions filled there for $4.

What are you going to need? I just finished a round of IVF in June (it was unsuccessful)
I will be more than willing to donate my unused meds to you. Email me ____@____.com I would love to do that if it worked for you.

They used to recommend the compounding pharmacy on Industrial Blvd, I think it's actually Euless but I'm not sure. They were always pretty familiar with their patients needs but I'm not sure if they still have a relationship with them. I'd ask Dr. Doody for ideas and recommendations you may be able to order everything on-line, my SIL had to go that route since they live in a smaller city that doesn't have an IVF friendly pharmacy.

Have you tried Grapevine Pharmacy? They do compounding and I just picked up a script for $10 instead of paying $50 at Carrie Boyds. It's just a hole in the wall little store, but they have great prices on everything in there. While waiting I noticed that a large lotion I usually pruchase at WalMart was over a dollar cheaper there. It might be worth you checking into. Good luck!
