Itchy Scalp Again!

After swimming in a friends' pool, me and my family all have have itchy scalps. It's not lice, it's not dandruff. It's been going on for 2 months now, and we have tried using 2 brands of "itchy scalp" shampoo and now have purchased "itchy scalp" hydrocortizone liquid. Nothing really helps. Help!

What can I do next?

Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question. It sounds like a reaction to the type of chlorine she uses, but I would like some info on that hydrocortizone liquid. I was told to use hydrocortizone on my daughter's cradle cap and found ointment, which sucked, or cream, which was okay, but liquid would be awesome. Where did you find it?!

I'd go to a pediatric dematologist to see what is going on. The answer might surprise you. Perhaps its an allergic reaction or somehting else that you are not considering.

Good luck!

Go to a dermatologist--private office or one at your local hospital. Have you tried Neutragena T-Gel or Garnier ANti-Dandruff (new) shampoo? Even though it's not dandruff, it helps with the itchiness. You can try scalpicin or Paul Mitchell Tea tree Shampoo. Good Luck.

Do you think it's could be dry skin? I don't know what your hair care is usually like, but maybe try going light on shampoo and heavy on conditioner or even (when you don't have to go to out) putting some lotion on the scalp? My daughter has curly hair and I've figured out that if I put a little lotion in it, it actually makes it look better.
