Hi Mamas/Dads

I just finished fifty shades of grey. I usually don't read much fiction. A co-worker lent me the book and I read it to see what the hype was all about.
Now the whole SM didn't do it for me and I found the quality of writing below standard but I am a sucker for the psychological development of a character . Christian has my interest, does he reform etc etc?
As you all know time is precious for us Mamas so am I wasting my time getting bk 2 and 3

TIA
B. k

Well, I couldn't make it through book 3. I was bored to tears, and the writing was so awful. So I have no idea how the book ended, and I haven't been able to muster up enough interest in it to care. My opinion is, don't bother.

I found the books to be wildly unrealistic and very poorly written, but I did read all 3 of them. I can't stop in the middle of a series without finding out what happens in the end.

after reading one I decided not to waste my time with 2 & 3.

I just couldn't get past the inaccuracies about the lifestyle and the horrible writing structure ... good grief how the hell did that get past an editor?

I am also bummed that some responses told you what happened but Book 2 and 3 are definetely worth it and if you leave just reading book 1 it isn't a complete story. One is not even the best book. I am not a usually a reader of erotica etc. but this was a great series. Just a little more interesting romance.
Once you read them, if you do I will have more comments on book 3.

If you're interested in the Christian character, the second and third books do explain more about him. And one thing I will say about the series, the books remain pretty constant in terms of the quality of the writing and story development. Which is to say it starts off bad and remains bad, but there is no noticeable decline throughout the series the way I felt there was with Twilight and the Hunger Games. FWIW. :)

The writing wasn't very good (lot of redundant use of words etc., etc.) however she did write some interesting characters. I found found them worth reading :) (sorry some responses told you what happened, but the details are still worth reading)

I'm like you. After book 1, I wasn't sure if it was worth it to continue but I hate to leave a character hanging.

I read book 2 & 3. Like the others said, the writing was boring but I enjoyed seeing the characters grow. I was also happy to see they learned to fix their problems outside of bed. I vote for reading it.

The second book goes much deeper into it being a LOVE story. Not just about some guy who wants a sex slave. They start to change for each other, and fall completely in love. I would start reading number 2, and if your not convinced by Chapter 5, then dont bother with the rest.

Read it! :)

I'm glad you asked this question. I'm usually a quick reader but I started the first book over a month ago. I have 2 books I really want to start so I was thinking of not finishing the series.

I read them all, only because my SIL loaned them to me and they were free. I skimmed through all of them. The writing is horrendous, and the protagonist is a complete idiot despite the author trying to make her out to be a strong, smart girl.

To answer your question, Christian reforms slightly. I kept hoping I would end up liking him, but nope.
