Is It a Yeast Infection? 3 Yr Old Has Discharge

I just did laundry today and found 4 pairs of undies with stains in the lining. I am with her 24/7 and haven't noticed her itching or touching her potty but she has complained about her undies being too small, so I went and bought her some bigger ones the other day. So - why would she have a discharge in her undies. After I washed and noticed the stains I had her take off her current panties that she is wearing and she has discharge in them. Is this a yeast infection? I do have a call into the Dr., but being Friday I have not guarentee that I will get a returned call.

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Dr. called back and said it could have been b/c she is deydrated. She told me to push water this weekend and if it isn't gone by Monday call back.

Thanks.

Also, save one of the panties to show the Doctor.

It could be anything, yeast, other vaginal infections.
Kids/girls do get those...even from bubble bath.
Hopefully the Doctor calls you back right away.

In the meantime before you get her in to the DR, make sure she starts eating some natural yogurt 3x a day.

Sounds like you did everything right :)

Does your girl part have an odor in addition to the discharge? My daughter recently developed vaginosis (bacterial infection; yeast infection cream won't work on it). Her's was brought on by bubble bath but her pedi also said other things could cause it (like exposure to chlorinated pool water; swimming in non-chlorinated water; etc.)

Hello,
If it looks like cottage cheese and she is itching down there yes, if it is just a little stains it could be normal..

Doesn't sound normal at all. Could be yeast - it's in our bodies all the time anyway. I'd get her in to be seen right away. Don't know if it's a good idea to use any over-the-counter yeast products on one so little, and it could throw off any tests they need to do. I'd insist on being seen!

Good luck!
